"Rarely do you encounter a car this well cared for. Meticulously maintained throughout, offering both driving pleasure and flair. An ’80s classic."

Description

This car was originally sold new by Bilmo in Lund AB (VAG) in October 1985. During its early years, it was located in the Skåne region. From 1996 onward, it was serviced at Nygårds Bilservice in Kungälv, indicating that it was likely used in that area.

In March 2013, it was acquired by the current owner’s father, at which point it had covered 68,000 km. It then became part of his very fine car collection and has since been driven very sparingly, only exercised occasionally.

The car is in exceptionally fine condition, both externally and internally. It was inspected on April 26, 2014, in preparation for the auction. The service book is stamped up to March 2003, after which the current owner’s family has carried out regular oil changes themselves despite the limited use.

Both the owner and we recommend replacing the timing belt, not due to mileage but because of its age.

The car sits on new Snowflake wheels with tires from week 09 of 2006. These tires have very good tread and show no signs of cracking. The convertible top is in excellent condition and operates smoothly when raising and lowering. A tonneau cover is included and is in good condition (see images).

Available documentation includes inspection records, the owner’s manual, and a well-documented service book. Two keys are included.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The engine and gearbox function flawlessly, as does all other technical equipment. The car brakes as it should, and it’s clear that it has been regularly exercised to keep components—especially the brakes—in good working order. The gas strut for the trunk is a bit weak and should be replaced.

  • Interior condition

No remarks were noted at the time of inspection. There are extremely few signs of use—nothing else to report.

  • Exterior condition

Just as nice on the outside as on the inside. We have not found anything to remark upon.

  • General condition

An overall outstanding impression throughout this car. It is as close to new condition as one can get despite being around 40 years old. Truly remarkable.
