Description
Under the hood sits a B18 Sport engine with dual SU carburetors, as it should. A ruby red PV Sport is something many are looking for, and early examples from the first generation are few and far between.
A solid example where you get what you see. The odometer reads 12,671 km and has most likely rolled over once (or twice).
The car is delivered with three ignition keys, two keys for the glove compartment and doors, and one key for the fuel cap.

Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The engine starts easily and runs well, but the valve clearances may need to be checked and the carburetors may require adjustment. The braking system feels to be functioning as it should. The left mudflap behind the front wheel is loose.
-
Interior condition
The interior is in fairly good condition, with reupholstered seats and door panels. The headliner also appears to be in good shape.
There are some cracks on the padded upper section of the dashboard (see photos), and the paint on the instrument cluster has also developed some cracking. -
Exterior condition
The car was repainted at some point further back in time. Taking that into account, the condition is normal. There are some dents, spots of rust, and signs of age (see photos), but nothing that detracts significantly from the overall impression.
The chrome is in somewhat worn condition, and there are dry cracks in the rubber seals around the front and rear windows (see photos). -
General condition
A PV Sport in good condition for someone who prefers driving over polishing and dusting a concours-level show car. Just get in and drive without worrying too much about weather or road conditions.

Facts about the model
The earliest cars were equipped with the B16B engine producing 85 hp, but in August 1961 this was replaced by the new five-bearing B18 engine. The PV 544 Sport received the B18D engine with 90 hp.
In August 1965, output was increased to 95 hp (for the 1966 model year), but only a month later Volvo announced that the model would be discontinued at the end of October 1965.
The final PV produced was a black 544 Sport, model year 1966.
