"This is the model that started the cult following in the Civic series, and this example is likely one of the finest remaining in Sweden. The last time I saw one on the road was in the late 1980s—most others succumbed to rust long ago."

Description

This car has a remarkable history. Anna-Lisa bought it new in 1977 from Bil & MC Jansson in Falun for 27,500 SEK, trading in her previous Honda for 21,000 SEK and paying the remaining 6,500 SEK. It came with a six-year Tectyl rust protection treatment, which proved highly effective in preserving the car. The original owner’s sticker with her details is still on the driver’s door. She owned it for 30 years before selling it to the second owner, a Honda enthusiast from the same area, who carried out some renovations, including replacing the front wing.

In 2017, it passed to a third owner for three years before the current owner acquired it in 2020. Since then, it has been lovingly kept in his collection and used as a fun summer car for his wife. With its documented history, low mileage, rust-free condition, and excellent driving performance—evident in the video—it would be hard to find a better example.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Starts instantly at the first turn of the key, with a smooth-running engine, effortless gear shifts, strong brakes, and excellent road handling. Always well-maintained, with the owner’s wife as the primary driver. The cambelt is recommended to be changed in the near future. Inspected until 2026-03-31, after which only one final inspection remains for permanent exemption. Ready to be driven anywhere with confidence.

  • Interior condition

Interior is entirely original and undamaged, in excellent condition for its age. The only note is a repaired edge on the driver’s seat. Even the original radio is still present.

  • Exterior condition

Bodywork is straight and undamaged, with no major rust issues. The underbody is clean and solid. There is slight surface rust on the boot lid edge and inner door edges. The front wings have been replaced, and the car has been partially repainted. The paintwork remains in excellent condition, with no damage, and the chrome details are bright and shiny.

  • General condition

Probably the best example for sale in Europe, this is a truly unique car with its history and condition. You’ll likely be the only first-generation Civic at your next car show.
