"An unusual sight on today's roads. A good starting point for a complete renovation or as a vintage car for everyday use. This car can be used during the summer and improved a little each winter, what is called a rolling restoration in vintage car circles. You can start by checking the carburetor and ignition system of the engine. In the medium term, there is a need to address rust damage, mainly around the rear fender edges with side panels."

Description

The car has been used as a daily driver by two owner families. The Vauxhall Cavalier Coupé 2.0 GLS was a cool family car for its time and was the top model offered by the British carmaker Vauxhall. The current owner bought it in 1998, and for a short period between 2017 and 2019, it was used by the family's daughter before being registered again in the father's name. So, there are three of the four registered owners of the car. The original instruction manual and jack are missing.

The car has been repaired and maintained over time and has been used as a daily driver. According to the vehicle registry, there are now fewer than 10 remaining examples of this model in Sweden. To get it in top shape, some work is needed. But once restored, it will be a unique and enjoyable vintage car that can still be used as a daily driver.

Facts about the model

Vauxhall is a British car brand founded in 1903. From 1925 until 2017, Vauxhall was owned by General Motors. Vauxhall Cavalier was a family car primarily sold in the United Kingdom. It was manufactured in three generations between 1975 and 1995. The first generation, launched in 1975 and manufactured until 1981, was based, with some cosmetic changes, on the existing Opel Ascona and Opel Manta. The front was borrowed from the Manta and the back from the Opel Ascona. The Cavalier Coupé 2.0 GLS model was Vauxhall's "Top of the line".

Initially, the Cavalier was manufactured in Germany on the same line as the Opel Ascona. From 1977, the Cavalier was also manufactured in the United Kingdom. Vauxhall Cavalier's biggest competitor in the domestic market was the Ford Cortina. In 2017, General Motors sold the Vauxhall brand to French PSA Peugeot Citroën. The cars now manufactured under the Vauxhall brand are versions of Opel models. Vauxhall models differ only through their unique Vauxhall grille.
