Description

The Saab has had enthusiastic owners who have taken good care of it, and the car has remained free from rust. There is an older repair on the passenger-side floor, but it is otherwise solid and in good condition. The car was originally brown but was repainted white (W1) in 1990. Everything was skillfully repainted except for the inner sides of the sills. A binder with full service history and inspection documents is included, along with a sun-faded owner’s manual.

Facts about the model

Saab originated from the engineering collective at the aircraft manufacturer in Linköping, with Sixten Sason leading the way in the 1940s. The prototype of the Saab 92 (92001, “Ur-Saaben”) was presented to company management in Linköping on June 4, 1946, and series production began on December 12, 1949. Output: 25 hp at 3,800 rpm.
The Saab 96 was produced between 1960 and 1980. Before the V4 engine—originally from Ford—was introduced in the 96 in 1967, the cars were equipped with a three-cylinder two-stroke engine.
