Description

It was originally sold as a 2011 Saab 9-5 NG 2.0 TiD, but was written off by an insurance company along with a number of other vehicles after a water damage incident in a parking garage. This particular car didn’t even have wet carpets and wasn’t actually damaged, but was written off nonetheless. The scrapyard that received the cars noticed this and decided to save it. The current owner and builder—who has several rallycross builds and race car transport vehicles to his name—had an idea for a capable car transporter and was on the lookout for a donor vehicle. The Saab turned out to be a perfect fit for the project. 2 meters width between the wheel arches on the flatbed and 2.5 meters in total. 1550 kg in stated total load weight and if you deduct the official driver and fuel weight off the service weight, the actual load weight is almost 1700 kg.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

    The 2.0-liter diesel engine from GM feels just right paired with the manual gearbox. All the warning messages that appear on the display stem from the conversion; they don’t affect the inspection and, according to the seller, can be permanently cleared if desired. The seller can assist with this. The functionality of the ABS brakes is currently uncertain and has not been tested. However, both the SFRO inspection and the registration inspection have been successfully completed and approved.

  • Interior condition:

    Normal wear for just over 70,000 km, otherwise clean and well-kept. The driver’s airbag has been removed, and it’s unknown whether the passenger airbag is active.

  • Exterior condition:

    Nice flatbed with air suspension and a lowerable loading surface. Well-designed construction solutions with independent rear suspension. The cab would benefit from a professional and thorough paint polish.

  • General condition:

    SFRO praised the driving characteristics, and it’s a solid, user-friendly car transporter inspired by an old concept for front-wheel-drive sedans.

SFRO (Sveriges fordonsbyggares riksorganisation) is a Swedish national organisation founded in 1982 with the goal of making it possible to register amateur-built vehicles. The goal of SFRO is to help builders to build their own vehicles and register them for road use. The types of vehicles SFRO handles are rebuilt vehicles (such hot rods and lowriders) and amateur-built vehicles (specials or kit cars). SFRO can also inspect imported vehicles that would not otherwise be possible to import. They are then regarded as rebuilt vehicles.

  • At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
