"Fully renovated Saab 92A with a two-stroke engine is a rarer find these days. This car is a joy to drive, has no issues, and is ready to hit the road. It has passed inspection and promises many happy miles ahead."

Description

The current owner of the Saab 92A is a retired Saab employee with over 40 years of experience. He acquired the car from southern Värmland in 1999 and undertook a complete renovation that was completed a few years ago. The car had been deregistered for many years before being reregistered in 2006. It received its final inspection/MOT in 2013 and has been driven only 1350 km since the renovation, indicating it still in a wonderful condition.

Thanks to his extensive network and contacts, as well as some assistance from Saab employees and factory space, the owner was able to replace all the body panels with NOS or the best available replacements. The most challenging aspect was replacing the floors, which needed to be manufactured to have the original pressed pattern.

After the bodywork was completed, the mechanical components were rebuilt. The Saab 92A came with a factory replacement engine that was thoroughly serviced and reviewed before being installed. The gearbox was also renovated, with new synchros and clutch, and an updated freewheel bearing system from a Ford was added for improved reliability. Additionally, all of the electrics and wiring were reviewed, along with the braking system, to ensure that they were in optimal condition.

The car was then repainted in SAGN6 Saab green, and the entire interior was reupholstered in original fabric. To add the final touch, the headliner was also replaced, resulting in a complete restoration that is both mechanically sound and aesthetically pleasing.
