Description

There are only three users. The car was owned by the first owner for 20 years, until 1992. Robetoy, a toy wholesaler, was the other owner. Between 1992 and 2018, they used the pickup for exhibitions and fairs before selling it to the VW collector behind the VW Museum in Pålsboda.
The car is entirely unique in design. Despite the fact that this was a work vehicle, the paint, interior, engine, and all details are untouched and in excellent condition. All of the owners kept the car indoors, which is why it has performed so well. There is some surface rust around stone chips and small marks, but it is not severe. After polishing and paint touch ups, it will be close to exhibition condition. It has since been outfitted with the Westfalia accessory platform, which includes wooden platforms, wooden drop side, a canopy, and wider rear-view mirrors. As a result, the cargo area is longer and wider. About ten years ago, the canopy was replaced. Everything else has remained untouched.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

It starts easily and runs smoothly. The engine has good traction and good gear positions. It's enjoyable to drive. Because the vehicle hasn't been driven in a few years, a buyer is advised to have the engine, brakes, and inspection done. (The most recent inspection/MOT was in 2004.)

  • Interior condition:

Carpets, dashboard, door cards, and other upholstery are all very nice. The driver's seat, on the other hand, is a little sun-bleached.

  • Exterior condition:

The exterior is in good condition, with only minor signs of wear. It has no major flaws or rust.

  • General condition:

Overall, I was very impressed. We've never seen such a clean and original VW pickup before. Just a light polish and the pick up will look wonderful.

Facts about the model
