"The final version of the model cycle that began with the 92 and ended with the V4 Super. Swedish industrial history at a reasonable price."

Description

It was delivered to its first owner, Birger Kärvell, in Visby by Wennerdahls Bil AB in the same city. Birger drove his Saab for 10 years, and after that, it passed through a few owners and a dealer before the current owner acquired it in 2018 from an older acquaintance. The most recent approved inspection was done on 2024-08-06, and there is an anomaly in the mileage between 2016 and 2018. It is likely a misreading; the current mileage of just over 154,000 km seems relevant to the car’s condition. The only point against it is that the previous front seat upholstery was worn.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

A familiar and reliable Saab V4 feel in both the engine and gearbox. However, an unusual noise is heard when the clutch pedal is fully depressed. Otherwise, the brakes work correctly and straight, with no noises from the drive shafts or wheel alignment.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in good original condition, with the back seat, door panels, dashboard, headliner, and carpets all looking nice. The front seats are from a donor car, as the original ones were in poor condition.

  • Exterior condition:

The car’s polished and attractive original paint has some marks, and one rear fender has been replaced. There are also red tones in parts of the underbody rust protection. The door trim on the left door is loose. It has older Vredestein tires with good tread on original wheels with nice hubcaps. There are no rust issues at known problem areas like the rear shock absorber mounts and where the drive shafts go through the inner fenders.

  • General condition:

A reasonably priced late V4 in good usable condition. It’s already quite charming but could become an even finer and more representative collector’s Saab with some simple improvements, such as matching original seat upholstery.
