"One of the most fun and spirited small cars out there, presented here in an attractive color combination."

Description

The current owner bought the Mini as a second car, and it has since been driven only a few thousand kilometers. The odometer now shows 147,500 km. The car was sold new in Sweden, and being a Cooper S, it features the most powerful turbocharged engine. It is inspected and approved until the end of the year and is fully ready to drive. A stamped service book is included, along with a folder containing receipts and inspection reports. Two sets of keys come with the car.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

With 174 hp in such a small and relatively light car, this is a very fun car to drive. This particular example performs exactly as a Mini should. When it was almost new, in 2009, it received a completely new factory engine through insurance. The current engine has therefore covered just over 80,000 km. Another major mechanical repair took place the following year when the gearbox was replaced. Both of these repairs are documented in the owner’s car folder, and the papers are included with the sale.

The fact that both repairs were carried out so long ago is a good indication that the car now runs well. During the test drive, there were no remarks regarding its mechanical condition. According to the owner, it can occasionally produce a slight noise from the front suspension. All electrical functions tested worked properly; the car is not equipped with air conditioning.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in good condition, featuring original rubber accessory floor mats. The driver’s seat shows only minor wear on the left side of the backrest. There are just a few small scratches on the plastic trim and steering wheel, and overall, the interior gives a very fresh impression.

  • Exterior condition:

The paint and body are in good condition, with only a few minor scratches. There is some paint damage on the rear panel and rear bumper, as well as a small blemish on the roof visible in the photos. The hood has a few stone chips, and the grille has been secured more firmly with duct tape. Stylish 17-inch aftermarket wheels are currently fitted, and a set of 16-inch original Mini alloy wheels with studded winter tires is included. The headlight washer for the right headlight, which is missing in the photos, has now been installed.

  • General condition:

A very well-maintained and well-functioning Mini of the most desirable version — the Cooper S — in an attractive color combination and with sporty wheels. The fact that the current owner has cared for the car meticulously and owned it for many years is a strong indication that this is a fine example.

Facts about the model

After 40 years of production, the classic Mini was retired in October 2000. Just a week earlier, its successor had been unveiled — the new Mini Cooper. In many ways, it looked like the original Mini, but of course, it was a completely new car: larger, heavier, and more modern. Yet the resemblance wasn’t just in appearance — both the classic Mini and the New Mini deliver a driving joy that’s hard to beat. The recipe remained the same: wheels at the corners and a low center of gravity.

The Cooper version was soon joined by the entry-level Mini One and the more powerful, supercharged Cooper S, known internally as the R53. The New Mini became a major success, and within five years, 700,000 units had been produced at the Oxford plant in the UK.

At the Paris Motor Show in the fall of 2006, a new generation Mini Cooper S debuted, internally coded R56. Its exterior dimensions had grown slightly, partly to meet pedestrian safety regulations. The new Cooper S no longer used a supercharger but a turbo instead. The engine was developed in cooperation with the PSA Group but, like the rest of the car, was manufactured in the UK. Production of the Mini Cooper S R56 continued until November 2013, when it was replaced by a new generation.
