"A rare car on our roads today, here an example that was restored in the 1980s and then not driven again until now."

Description

The car was restored in the 1980s and was then taken off the road in 1985. It has had a couple of owners since who never drove it. The current owner bought the car from an enthusiast who completed the restoration by using parts from a donor car.
It has since been inspected and received new brakes, etc., under the current owner’s care.

A couple of boxes with chrome parts and headlamp lenses are included, as well as the original wheels. A binder with the owner’s manual, invoices, and more is also included.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car runs well and handles nicely on the road, with brakes that work well and without pulling to either side. It has recently received a start-up service, refurbished brakes, a new exhaust system, new tyres and wheels, as well as an inspection.

  • Interior condition:

Original interior in need of a detailing. There are holes in the driver’s seat backrest and in the top of the rear seat backrest. The wood trim on the dashboard is worn.

  • Exterior condition:

An older paint job that has held up well because the car has not been used since 1985. There is pitting in the chrome in various places. New wheels and tyres are fitted; the original wheels are included.

  • General condition:

A lovely Italian that runs well, uncommon on our roads today as rust was harsh on this model.

Facts about the model

Alfa Romeo 1750 Berlina, introduced in 1968, was an elegant and technically advanced sports sedan that combined Italian design with impressive performance. With its 1.8-litre twin overhead cam engine, disc brakes all around, and the characteristically precise Alfa steering, it offered a driving experience that few family cars of the time could match. The bodywork, designed under the direction of Bertone, was both spacious and cleanly styled, and the interior carried clear traces of Alfa’s sporty heritage. The 1750 Berlina quickly became appreciated as a sophisticated yet practical sports saloon – built to be driven, not merely admired – and is today considered one of the marque’s most distinctive models from its golden era.
