"A car that is complete and inspected, looks nice but needs an engine overhaul. I haven't tested this car in person; the information and pictures are provided by the seller."

Description

The current owner's father was a big car enthusiast and had a museum on Gotland where several nice vehicles were included in the collection. After his passing, the collection began to be sold off as there wasn't time to take care of all the vehicles. This car joined the collection in 1986 and has been driven very sparingly since then. The current owner last drove it last summer for 50-100 miles before something happened with the engine. Presumably, the head gasket has gone as the engine is pushing out water.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine, clutch, and radiator were renovated a number of years ago, but during driving last year, the head gasket presumably failed. Water is being pushed out from the engine, and it vibrates. Not tested by BWA.

  • Interior condition:

Original interior in a well-preserved condition, with some wear on the upholstery of the back seat (see pictures). A detailing of the rest of the interior would give a good impression.

  • Exterior condition:

The paint looks good without any signs of rust or damage, and the chrome is also in good condition.

  • General condition:

A fine enthusiast car that, after an engine repair, will be roadworthy and make a good impression at meets this summer.

Facts about the model

Opel Olympia Coach 1951 is a classic car model from the German manufacturer Opel. It belongs to Opel's Olympia series, which was introduced in the 1930s and was one of Opel's most successful model series in the post-war period.

Under the hood, the Opel Olympia Coach 1951 typically featured a four-cylinder engine. This engine was often paired with a manual transmission and powered the rear wheels. Despite being relatively small in size, the engine provided enough power to drive the car in city traffic and on the highway.

Opel Olympia Coach 1951 was also known for its comfort and convenience. It offered ample space for passengers and luggage, and its interior often had a simple but functional design, with comfortable seats and user-friendly controls.

As a representative of its era's design and technology, Opel Olympia Coach embodies part of Opel's heritage and contributes to the company's history in car production. Today, it is a rare and sought-after classic among car enthusiasts and collectors.
