Description

Grand and prestigious carriage with a body designed by one of the most renowned coachbuilders of its time (see picture). The model was only produced between 1936 and 1940, making this a particularly exceptional example. The model was used, among others, by the royal family in England during its time, and the Queen Mother rode in a similar car during King George VI's coronation procession in 1937.

This car was purchased by renowned collector Helge Karinen, who built up the remarkable collections at Sparreholm during the 1970s and 1980s. It has been on display in the museum and is now being made available for sale. According to information, it was acquired in England in the early 1980s when it was newly painted and had a recently overhauled engine. It was driven to Sweden and used a few times before being stored at the museum.

The body and paint are in excellent condition. The mechanics also appear to be in good shape but will require servicing to start and a brake inspection. The interior is in untouched original condition, showing signs of use and primarily needing a thorough cleaning (quite dusty and with some moth damage in a few areas). The overall impression is very favorable. This is a wonderful car for ceremonial drives, special occasions, weddings, and more. Additionally, the availability of spare parts is good in England, thanks to the highly active Daimler club.
