Facts about the model

In 1948 the French public car arrived when Citroën presented 2CV. It would be manufactured for four decades. The 2CV was simple but thoughtfully engineered, with a 375cc 9-hp air-cooled box engine. It is said that the basic requirements for the model were that it would be able to transport 4 people, be fuel-tight, have such a soft suspension that a farmer could drive a basket of egg across a newlywed field without damage to the eggs. The car got a very soft suspension, consisting of a single longitudinal long helix spring per side, and attached to the suspension suspension with linkage. The simple model became a great seller worldwide and an obvious part of the French cityscape. Over the years, the model developed through several modernizations. It was even like 2-motor and 4-wheel drive and was then called 2CV Sahara.
