"After spending 20+ years on display at Sandahls Car Museum, the car was purchased by a Rolls-Royce and Bentley enthusiast who carried out a complete review along with necessary mechanical repairs to pass inspection and return it to the road."

Description

The car was imported from the UK and registered in Sweden in 2005 as a right-hand drive. That same year it was acquired by the museum, where it was last inspected on October 7, 2005, before being placed on display for the next 20 years. The current owner, a highly knowledgeable Rolls-Royce and Bentley enthusiast, purchased the car last year and spent six months carefully recommissioning it. He also consulted the Rolls-Royce Club, which confirmed a previous owner as a company director in Sheffield.

Extensive work was carried out, focusing on the fuel system and carburetors, brakes, and replacement of worn components. The car is now newly inspected, runs and drives very well, and has covered 200–300 km since completion.

It underwent an earlier renovation and repaint, most likely in the 1980s, and still presents in good, attractive condition. The interior is complete and well kept, with the leather seats likely recolored during that renovation. A small tear is visible on both the driver’s seat and rear seat (see photos)

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine starts easily and runs well, with a slight tappet sound for the first 20–30 seconds that then disappears. It drives smoothly, the gearbox shifts as it should, the brakes feel solid, and the ride is very comfortable. Recent work includes renovated carburetors, a new double brake head and master cylinder, new brake lines and wheel cylinders, new petrol and windscreen washer pumps, plus an oil filter adapter for easier oil changes. The car has recently passed a new inspection without any remarks and is now inspection-exempt.

  • Interior condition:

Interior is very tidy, carrying that wonderful aged English leather smell and feel. The leather seats are in good condition overall, with a 10 cm split on the driver’s seat (see picture). The wooden panels and trims present well, showing only a few small flakes in the varnish. The dashboard and instruments are clean, with some expected wear around the ignition key. Carpets are in good condition, with light wear on the driver’s side, while the headliner is clean and complete with two small holes (see pictures). Equipment includes a heated electric rear window, and all electric windows function correctly, apart from the rear right passenger switch which requires replacement, though the window operates properly from the driver’s panel.

  • Exterior condition:

The older renovation has held up well over the years, and the car still presents nicely. The bodywork is straight and clean, with only a small dent on the passenger-side front wing edge, a light dent on the driver’s door, and a small blister near the driver’s windscreen (see pictures). The paintwork is bright and clean, with a few minor touch-ups around the windscreen scuttle panel and a small paint crack on the front wing near the chrome trim. The chrome remains bright and attractive, with only a small dent on the driver’s side corner (see pictures). The underbody is clean and solid with no notable issues. The boot is tidy and includes a complete tool kit

  • General condition:

This car is very presentable and has benefited from many hours of recommissioning work carried out by its knowledgeable owner over a four-month period. It is now fully prepared and ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian
