Description

Bilweb Auctions has been entrusted to sell the cars that were part of the collection at Saab Memorial Hall, Sweden's most charming little Saab museum.

Started by Norwegian Tron Bach, who moved to Sweden in 2011, the museum was a testament to his passion for Saab. After a busy life as a hotel owner, Tron relocated to a small farm in Gullsjö, Vännäs. There, he found a worn and dented Saab 92 behind the barn, which sparked the idea of starting a Saab museum to honor the Swedish cultural heritage of Saab—a car admired worldwide. Over the years, the museum has welcomed over 1,000 visitors to this small northern town.

Now, feeling that it is time to retire, Tron has decided to close the museum on a high note. The museum will close around the time of the auction's conclusion, and until then, a visit is highly recommended. For more information, visit Saab Memorial Hall.

Note: Several cars in this auction are still inside the museum and require one of the walls to be dismantled for removal. This will be done when the museum closes, allowing buyers to collect their vehicles.

About the car:

Saab 900s, which has been the museum curator's winter car. During the summer months, while the museum was open, it was part of the exhibition. He bought it in 2018 and is now selling it along with the rest of the Saab collection.

The car has an excellent history with virtually all previous inspection reports and many service receipts saved in a document binder. We find no remarks from previous visits to the vehicle inspection, which is extremely rare and shows that the car has been well-maintained. It was bought new in 1995 by a gentleman living in Helsingborg. Afterward, there have been a few more registered owners before the car ended up at Saab Memorial Hall. It was last inspected at the vehicle testing station in 2023, with no remarks. It now needs to go in for this year's inspection. The good news is that the car is now 30 years old and enjoys the Swedish vintage car regulations. Henceforth, it is tax-exempt and only needs to be inspected every other year.

The odometer reads just under 180,000 kilometers, as confirmed by the included inspection reports. The car comes with a spare wheel, jack, and documentation. Note: Only studded winter tires are included.

Owner's comment

This might just be the world's best daily driver. A dream to drive through snowy winter nights.

Facts about the model

Under General Motors' ägarskap utvecklade Saab en helt ny modell som såldes under samma namn, Saab 900, mellan 1993 och 1998. Denna version kallas ofta NG, för New Generation. Även om den skiljer sig avsevärt från den första Saab 900-generationen, behåller den flera av de klassiska Saab-attributen i sin design.
