Volvo 1800 S B18 — 1968

• Zustand technisch

  Well-serviced B18, meticulously maintained by a fastidious owner. No restoration over the years, but the camshaft was replaced under warranty when the car was new due to a hardening defect, according to Volvo. It has had a stainless steel exhaust system for several years. The carburetors protest a bit when the engine is cold, and during the test drive, it was running on old gasoline from last season—the car hasn’t been driven this year. After filming for a while, when the engine warmed up and after driving back and forth on small roads, the owner remarked, 'Are we stopping already? Now it’s starting to feel just right again.' Words from an owner who has driven his 1800S almost every season since its delivery in 1968.

• Zustand Interieur

  Nicely worn-in and soft leather interior, regularly conditioned and cleaned. Everything else is well-preserved: carpets, headliner, door panels, and the dashboard, including its top. Along the inside of the left A-pillar, there's a row of pins from a trip to the Soviet Union. A stash of Toy chewing gum packs served as icebreakers and were traded for badges and other unique souvenirs.

• Zustand Exterieur

  Repainted in the 1980s after a carburetor fire scorched the paint on the hood and part of a fender. The entire car, except for the roof, received a high-quality paint job, fortunately (or skillfully) done without any period-typical filler spray in the prep work. The seam from the roof can be seen in one of the photos. The chrome is in good condition, and the owner has new original hubcaps and a tailpipe for the exhaust system, which are included. 'I don’t dare to install them; the risk of someone taking them if the car is left unattended is too great,' says the owner.

  History, provenance, and condition. And excellent documentation. Service book and driving logs to delve into. A well-used and equally well-cared-for car that has always been stored in a garage at home when not in use. We hope to share more about the adventures this car has experienced later. General information about the condition of the vehicles .

• At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
• During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.

Important to know before placing your bids!

• Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
• When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
• If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
• If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
• Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
• For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
