This car was a director’s company car for a larger company on Gotland for its first years. After being privately driven on Gotland to it was sold to an MB enthusiast in Östersund back in 2006. The car received a light respray around the lower panels in its original paint color and then only driver during the summer months.
It’s got that attractive audible 4.5 liter V8 engine with 370 Nm of torque with working sunroof. Nice bodywork and décor with a few grain of dust in the paintwork can be mentioned (can be polished out).

Nice to drive and everything's working fine and it has surprisingly good performance. The car has been well-kept for over the years with many new parts been fitted or replaced.

Nice and complete upholstery with artificial leather and fine period style MB fabric. The dashboard, door cards and carpets are also in a fine condition.

No damages or visible rust and a large part of the paint work is original. Nice chrome work with fresh moldings. More pictures will follow.

Newly inspected/MOT and Swedish-sold original car that’s been cherished, it’s unusually nice that’s gives it an appealing impression.

Mercedes W116 serien - med flera olika motoralternativ - blev en stor succé när den introducerades 1972. Den ansågs vara dåtidens kanske säkraste bil. Kvaliteten var också på toppnivå och den var först i Mercedes-familjen att kallas ”S-klasse”.
Bilen utsågs till Årets Bil i Europa 1974. En titel som normalt bara tilldelas små- och mellanklassbilar. Designern bakom den lyckade modellen var Friedrich Geiger som också var pappa till Mercedes-klassikerna 540 K och 300 SL. Båda dessa modeller är sen länge väldigt eftertraktade av samlare och säljs numera för rena fantasibelopp.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
