The current owner purchased the car in 2012, and that's when an extensive inspection and renovation began. The body underwent a thorough inspection and serious rust repairs. It was then repainted, including the body, doors, hood, trunk lid, and engine compartment. All black body moldings and clips were replaced with new ones. The undercoating was stripped off, and a new undercoating treatment was applied. The rear axle and sway bars were blasted and painted. New control arms, front and rear shock absorbers (Bilstein with HR springs), and all bushings were installed, along with new gear linkage. New brake and fuel lines were fitted, and the rear brakes were completely replaced with new ventilated discs and brake pads. New 15-inch steel rims (G60) were mounted with Dunlop Sport tires. A spare wheel with a new rim is included.
The engine underwent a complete overhaul, including new main bearings, crankshaft bearings, thrust washers, piston rings, valve guides, cylinder head bolts, adjustable camshaft gear, and a more aggressive camshaft. New Bosch injectors and NGK spark plug wires were installed. The pistons and connecting rods were weighed, and the cylinder head was minimally ported. The engine block was honed, and a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold was fitted. A new timing belt kit and water pump were also installed. The original camshaft and exhaust manifold are still available and included with the car. The car features a complete Simons sports exhaust system.
The gearbox was completely overhauled, and a new clutch from Sachs was installed. The fuel injection system was adjusted by Nille at Ultra Motor. The car is equipped with a multifunction trip computer, and all electronics are in working order. New front and rear turn signals and a new license plate light were fitted. The odometer was reset to zero after the renovation, as the car had previously covered approximately 22,000 miles. Since the renovation, the car has covered just over 500 miles.
A folder with documentation from the renovation is included, as well as the original instruction manual, service booklet, warranty certificate, and other documents in a traditional folder.

Essentially everything has been reviewed and is in very good condition. It starts easily and runs very well. Everything is tight and functioning well.

Over the years, the Golf GTI evolved with improved equipment, enhanced safety features, and more power. It's often said that a model is at its best towards the end of its production era.
In the transition between 1983 and 1984, the first series bid farewell and the second series began production. The last cars of the first series were still in production halls at the beginning of 1984, side by side with the new second series.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
