Rare, hand-made model, one of the first cabriolets before the Corniche model came. Nice original car and very sort after collector’s car.

Beschreibung

This car is part of Motala Motormuseum's “beautiful collections”. Unusual, fully-equipped cab model built the year before the cabriolets were named Corniche.
This car with the chassis number CRH5040 came to Sweden in 1976 and appears to have retained its original paintwork. The paint has some small scratches but gives a very good overall impression. This is an honest, untouched car that’s been carefully used with correct detailing right down to the original tool kit.
The cabriolet roof has been changed in recent years, and the head liner needs to be tightened. The leather interior and woodwork has patina but is complete.
This Silver Shadow Cabriolet goes well and has not covered many miles. The electric motor that operates the roof needs be reconditioned.
When Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow came in 1965, it was a very advanced car with Citroën hydraulic self leveling suspension, and disc brakes all around. Silver Shadow was built until 1981, but the convertible version continued to be manufactured until 1996.

    World class luxury that still feels modern with today’s standard. The electric motor for convertible need to be reconditioned.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    Untouched original leather upholstery. With some small traces of wear Carpets and luggage carpet may require careful washing. The head liner needs to be tightened up.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    Original paint work in fine condition. Has some scratches in the paint if you look carefully. Cabriolet has been changed. .

  • Zustand gesamt:

    A solid original car that gives a good overall impression.

Fakten zum Modell

The Shadow featured a 172 hp (128 kW) 6.2 L V8 from 1965 to 1969, and a 189 hp (141 kW) 6.75 L V8 from 1970 to 1980. Both power plants were coupled to a General Motors-sourced Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic gearbox, except on pre-1970 right-hand-drive models, which used the same 4-speed automatic gearbox as the Silver Cloud (also sourced from General Motors, the Hydramatic).
A distinctive feature was a high-pressure hydropneumatic suspension system licensed from Citroën, with dual-circuit braking and hydraulic self-leveling suspension. At first, both the front and rear of the car were controlled by the leveling system; the front leveling was deleted in 1969 as it had been determined that the rear leveling did almost all the work. Rolls-Royce achieved a high degree of ride quality with this arrangement.
