Beschreibung

Current owners who have spent much of their lives as mechanics and competing with Volvo cars have mechanically renovated and reviewed the car. The car was finished at Volvo on September 16, 1982.

The engine was completely rebuilt 3000 km ago. It was then given a top 405 with sodium valves from the turbo and an A-camshaft. The output is estimated to be around 200 hp/150 kW. The clutch has been strengthened. To reduce engine speed, the rear axle has a higher end gear.

It features a water-cooled turbo for longer service life, a Volvo intercooler kit for increased power, and a slungdiff for quicker take-offs. The chassis is original, making for a very comfortable ride. It also comes with a 1500 kg tow bar.
The body was renovated in 2006, and rust has begun to appear under the paint in a few places. It is a perfect ready to go car that needs to be taken care of so that the rust bubbles do not grow larger or simply to do a proper body overhaul, depending on what you want from your car.

    Very good technical condition. Refurbished engine and powertrain.

    Good condition but different colour on seats and door cards.

    In good working order. There are bubbles in the paint in front of the sun roof, indicating rust. There are a few scratches and smaller paint bubbles dotted around.

Fakten zum Modell

Turboversionen var den dyraste prestandamodellen av Volvos familjevagn 240. Lanseringen skedde 1980 och de första bilarna såldes som årsmodell 1981. Året efter lanserades 245 Turbo. Bilarna var dock bara för vissa marknader och några till den svenska blev det aldrig de första åren. De första 245 Turbo som såldes i Sverige fick årsmodell 1984. Sista året för Turbon blev 1985 och då erbjöds bara kombiversionen.
Förutom motorn var det en rad specifika detaljer. På utsidan var det egentligen bara fälgarna av Volvos Virgomodell och emblemen som skiljde Turbo från GLT. Inuti var det tydligare med plyschklädsel och hastighetsmätare graderad till 220 km/h. Ratten var också speciell, liksom läderdamasken runt växelspaken. Dessutom fick sedanmodellen svart innertak.
Under huven satt en B21ET med turbo från amerikanska Garrett, och med 155 hk klarade 240 Turbo 0-100 km/h på 9 sekunder. Få bilar rullar dock idag med original oljekyld turbo eftersom de byttes mot vattenkylda när de havererade. Någon Intercooler satt aldrig original, däremot fanns den att köpa via Volvo R-Sport och med en sådan monterad fick motorn hela 170 hk.

Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
