Beschreibung

It was delivered by the general agent Philipssons AB and registered for traffic in Sweden in August 1981. The majority of the total mileage of just under 105,000 km was driven by the owners before 2001; since then, the car has covered just over 1,000 km. Between 2001 and 2017, the car was off the road, which has surely contributed to its preserved condition today. The most recent approved inspection was carried out on 2022-10-28.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    Pleasant straight-six feel and sound, albeit with a modest output of 113 hp by today’s standards, but at the time still a lively engine. In the sporty siblings 240Z/260Z and 280ZX, this engine type came with both twin and triple carburetors, as well as fuel injection. The automatic gearbox shifts normally, and the brakes feel good.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    Normally patinated original interior for its age and mileage. Upholstery, door panels, controls, and headliner are in good condition considering, while carpets and flooring could use some cleaning. The power windows need a bit of manual assistance up and down, and removing the door panels for cleaning and lubricating the window tracks would improve their function. Some plastic parts have, as usual, faded and changed color over the years, and the seat pocket elastics have lost their grip.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    Partly repainted at some point, with a visible color difference on the right front door. Otherwise, the body has held up well with only minor corrosion on the left rear door and on both lower corners of the front. The windshield has a small stone chip with a subsequent short crack. Looks good underneath based on the photos and according to the owner, who has inspected it more closely than we did during documentation. Three sets of wheels with tires are included: garage-refinished original rims currently mounted, a set of accessory rims, and a set of graphite grey original rims from a contemporary 280ZX. Subjectively, the latter look particularly nice on the car.

  • Zustand gesamt:

    Fun and nowadays unusual model in good basic condition, and as a cost-effective customization project, a possible scenario could be to start with the 280ZX wheels, then upgrade the engine with inspiration and parts from the Z siblings, perhaps install a manual gearbox, and explore and get inspired by all the JDM sites and communities for a better chassis setup and also an interior upgrade. For example, that is.

Fakten zum Modell

The Datsun Laurel C31 was a mid-size, rear-wheel-drive sedan produced during a period when the Datsun name was being phased out in favor of Nissan. At that time, Datsun was the name used for the company’s passenger cars, while Nissan was used for trucks. This generation, the C31, was the last Laurel model imported to Sweden and was available with various engines, including the 2.4-liter straight-six with 113 hp found in the auction car.

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
