Anniversary model, one of the last 500 in the so-called The "Run-Out" series, when the model was discontinued at the beginning of 1980. All these anniversary cars had the same blue metallic colour, no: 137B and trim CO8 and Ronal alloy wheels. This example has chassis number 320 from the end. The last car that was produced had ch no. ....6002820. This one has ....6002500.
Current owner who has had the car since 1987 is selling it due to his age. He stopped driving it in 1998 and since then it has stood as an ornament in his garage in the south of Sweden. Only started and warmed up on beautiful summer days over the years.
The car is completely original. The paintwork is original, as is the engine and interior. It has no notable blemishes or rust. It is simply complete and fine. A polishing and internal cleaning is also in order. Then it will be in top condition. We have started it up and test driven it. The car needs a new battery and the engine and brake serviced. The tyres are from the 1990s. It has not been on the road since 1997.
As a curiosity, we can mention that the owner was a big Saab enthusiast and had another, similar car, which was at the Saab museum since new. It had travelled 50 km and fetched SEK 350,000 at our auction in November 2017.

Fakten zum Modell
Byggd på Valmets fabrik i Finska Nystad. Saab 96 tillverkades mellan åren 1960 och 1980. V4-motorn introducerades i augusti 1966 som årsmodell 1967. Försäljningen av Saab 96 hade då börjat gå trögt eftersom köparna inte längre var lika intresserade av tvåtaktsmotorer. V4:an kom från Ford och väckte nytt liv i 96:an. Trots att den nya fyrtaktsmotorn bara vägde 50 kilo mer än den gamla tvåtaktaren, levererade den hela 50 procent mer kraft och gav 65 hästkrafter. Tvåtaktaren kom dock att leva kvar ytterligare två år parallellt med det nya motoralternativet.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
