This Mercedes was purchased new in 1980 in San Jose, California. A collector near New York City bought the car in 2006. It was only driven in dry weather and was stored at a Mercedes dealer over the winter.
It was imported to Germany in 2018 and had two registered owners. The current owner registered it in Sweden in 2021. The Mercedes-Benz club inspected it and it now has MHRF insurance.
The inspector wrote in his report, "One of the best untouched MB 280-350-450 SL that I have seen," as seen in the photo.
This car is in almost new condition and has been very well maintained. The original paint has some scratches that have been touched up, and the front bumper has a couple of small dents, as shown in the photos. There is also a small dent on the hardtop's edge. The functionality of the AC, cruise control, and electric antenna is unknown. The right door's upper sealing is bent but includes a new one. The new convertible top is in great shape.

Fakten zum Modell
En av bilvärldens verkliga GT-klassiker. Mercedes-Benz öppna SL med 107-kaross blev en verklig långkörare med sina 18 år. Tillverkningen startade 1971 och löpte på hela vägen till 1989. När tillverkningen lades ner hade man tillverkat hela 260 000 exemplar.
107-generationen tillkom under en tid då de amerikanska myndigheterna kraftigt stärkte sina säkerhetskrav vilket tvingade många biltillverkare att ta i från tårna.
Hos Mercedes-Benz kallades 107 internt för pansarvagnen på grund av konstruktionen. Genom åren tillverkades SL med en rad motorer, både med sexor och V8.
SL fanns också som lyxcoupé och kallades då SLC och hade längre chassi än den strikt tvåsitsiga cabriolet-versionen SL.

- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
