The former registration number for this double cab pickup was Y5150 (Y = Västernorrland). It was never registered in the new car registry and spent a few years as an unregistered farm car before being retired. You can get a duplicate of the old registration certificate and use it to register the car and get new number plates. This is something that the customer must undertake on his own. The car was built in November 1968 and transported to Malmö in the spring of 1969, before being delivered to Västernorrland in the summer of 1969. Has spent his active life in Sundsvall and Östersund until relocating to Åmål a few years ago. It had been put on hold for renovation at Fahlke's VW workshop, but other cars had taken precedence in the drive, so it is currently for sale as is. The engine and gearbox have been dismantled and are on a pallet next to the pick.up It appears to be in good order and was running before it was removed. In terms of corrosion, it's mostly cosmetic on the outside, with surface rust and a few minor holes, as seen in the images. Beams and outriggers are both in good shape. The torsion pipes on the front end have been lowered with lowering kits. If you are mechanically inclined, this is a good object with a lovely patina that can be made drivable as is. In collector circles, this model is one of the most uncommon and sought after among VW's older pickups, making it ideal for a good original restoration.

The engine will not start it is disassembled. The engine isn't stuck and can be turned over by hand. Because the car has been parked for more than 30 years, the brakes, fuel system, and electrical system all need to be inspected and serviced. The pickup is complete and has been in dry storage, so all that is necessary is the installation of new brakes, as well as the engine and transmission. The mileage on the odometer is presently 58,000 kilometers. Based on wear and tear in the cabin and other indicators, we estimate it has gone 158.000 kilometers.

Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
