Beschreibung
This car was bought in 1993 by a man in Upplands Väsby; he took care of the car and handled it well. He kept it until the fall of 2017 when a man in Sigtuna bought it; he had it for a few months and then let his son take it over. In spring 2018, the current owner, Volvo enthusiast, bought the car and has serviced, reconditioned and inspected it. Since there are several cars in his collection he now needs the space.

Fakten zum Modell
Volvo 240 var en vidareutveckling av Volvo 140-serien och presenterades 1974. Volvo 240 (inklusive Volvo 260) hade stora försäljningsframgångar och är Volvos mest tillverkade modellserie någonsin med sina 2,8 miljoner exemplar. Den indelades precis som sin föregångare i 242 (tvådörrarsversion), 244 (fyradörrarsversionen) och 245 (kombimodellen). Dessa beteckningar togs bort i och med årsmodell 1983 - istället fick samtliga versioner officiellt heta 240. Beteckningarna används fortfarande för att klargöra vilken kaross det handlar om.
Under åren genomgick 240-serien flera förändringar, bland annat moderniserades fronten ett flertal gånger, störst förändring gjordes på årsmodell 1981 med en helt ny front och en ny inredning. Volvo 240 har kommit att få en kultstatus som den typiska Volvon. Volvo 240 var också länge Sveriges vanligaste bil.
När Volvo 740 introducerades 1984 trodde många att 240:ans tid var till ända men den fortsatte att tillverkas ända fram till 1993, dvs ett år efter att sista 740:an tillverkats. Efter 1985 blev modellvarianterna färre, bland annat utgick tvådörrarsmodellen, eftersom Volvo satsade på den då nyligen lanserade, och tänkta efterföljaren 740 som större volymbil i modellprogrammet. Tillverkningen av 240 upphörde inte förrän år 1993, då man behövde tillverkningskapacitet för Volvo 850. Den 5 maj 1993 tillverkades den sista Volvo 240:an - en grön herrgårdsvagn.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
