Beschreibung

This car was registered for traffic in Germany on March 29, 2011. It was sold by Autohaus Etehad in Hamburg to a lady in Neu Ansbach. On December 16, 2016, she traded in the car at the same dealership. The owner kept the car as a summer car for his wife, who became the second owner. On January 12, 2021, the current owner purchased the car from the same dealership and imported it to Sweden. Transportation and registration inspection were handled by Fredrik Wennerholm AB in Lund. It was registered in Sweden on February 4, 2021. The current owner is a SAAB enthusiast, and this became his eighth SAAB. He has continued to service it according to SAAB service instructions. At 100 200 kilometers, a full service was done, including a timing belt and water pump replacement, as well as brake service and fluid replacement. From Germany and Autohaus Etehad, there are certificates of mileage and that the car is "accident-free". The car has not been driven in winter and has been stored in a garage. All documentation is available and included. Duplicate keys are available.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    The car starts without any issues and runs smoothly in both the engine and drivetrain. All functions such as the automatic transmission, steering, and brakes are working well. While it hasn't been inspected on a lift, from what could be inspected, everything looked good.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    The interior is in excellent original condition. All functions appear to be working well, including the air conditioning, which provides cool air.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    The original paintwork is in excellent condition, complemented by a nice gray soft top that operates smoothly with the electric function. The glass, plastic, rubber, and lighting details are all in great condition, as are the emblems and trim pieces. The car sits on fine wheels fitted with new Nokia Hakka Blue3 tires.

  • Zustand gesamt:

    This is one of the later-built convertible cars from Saab. Although it hasn't quite reached classic status yet, it's well on its way. These cars were essentially classics and enthusiast vehicles from the start.

Fakten zum Modell

The first generation of the new 9-3 model, produced from 1998 to 2003, was primarily a facelift from the earlier 900 model. With the second generation and the 2003 model year, there were more changes. The previous hatchback disappeared, and instead, a sedan was introduced, or in Saab terminology, a SportSedan. The following year saw the introduction of a new convertible. These models were entirely new and built on the GM Epsilon platform, related to, among others, the Opel Vectra and Cadillac BLS. As usual, Saab models ranged from basic versions to the powerful Aero versions.

Saab's convertible models moved around a bit. Initially, they were made by Valmet in Finland. However, the second generation 9-3 convertible, introduced for the 2004 model year, came from Magna-Steyr in Austria. Towards the end, production was brought back to Trollhättan, but the very last model year in 2012 was assembled in Nyköping. The convertibles had various engines, with the most popular being the 2.0T engine, a 1998cc four-cylinder with 16 valves and a turbocharger producing 210 horsepower. In the early years, these were equipped with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic.

However, December 19, 2011, was a dark day for Swedish automotive history. Saab Automobile declared bankruptcy. The model that was on the assembly line at that time was the new 9-5. GM owned the licensing rights, which meant that there would be no further production.

The bankruptcy estate was taken over in the summer of 2012 by National Electric Vehicle Sweden, abbreviated as Nevs. However, the rights to the Saab 9-3 were included. After the factories had been idle for over two years, Nevs resumed production of the 9-3 model. It resulted in only one model series, the Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4.
