A Saab for the enthusiast. The car is not in the best shape, but considering the price and model, it is well worth renovating to a fine condition or driving it as is.
The car was used as a technology demonstrator between 1986 and 1990. The test driver eventually purchased the Saab and used it until 2006. The car then came to a halt and began to deteriorate.
After a few years, the car was sold to a Saab collector, who in turn handed it to the current owner, who purchased it in 2018.

A sought-after Saab model that has been Moted and passed with flying colors. The owner replaced the brakes, repaired rust in the floor and front suspension, installed new shock absorbers in the front, a new wheel bearing in the left rear, a new three-inch exhaust system, and more to get it certified at the first inspection in his possession.
The car comes with binders with prior inspection/MOT reports as well as other documents.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    It performs well in the engine and transmission. At 100 km/h in 5th gear, the box emits a sound reminiscent to straight-cut gears. (The sound disappears a couple of kilometers above or below the speed limit.) The air conditioner has been disassembled, and the sunroof no longer works due to a broken motor. The owner just repaired what was required for it to pass its inspection/MOT.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    The interior is in a worn condition and the headliner is hanging, which is common. Original furnishings in a condition corresponding to 31000 miles.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    Rusty, a lot of bodywork has to be changed to make it attractive. A entire donor car could be a option for renovation?

  • Zustand gesamt:

    A car that requires a lot of attention if you want it to be in good shape.

Fakten zum Modell

Den första generationen Saab 900 såldes mellan 12 maj och 1978 och 1994. Den hade när den kom stora likheter med Saab 99 och var i själva verket en större och bekvämare vidareutveckling av 99:an med samma motor, B-motorn. På USA-marknaden kom flera återförsäljare att ha problem med begreppet "ny" då likheter med den gamla 99:an var så slående. 1988 Från och med årsmodell 1989 försvann alla 8-ventilsmotorer från Turboprogrammet. En jubileumsmodell, kallad 900 T8 special, tillverkades i samband med detta. Denna modell hade samma utrustning och utseende som en Aero men med en 8V motor och ett lägre pris. Denna modell tillverkades i 805 exemplar för den svenska marknaden. 16V motorn utan turboaggregat fanns att köpa som 900i 16 (128 hk DIN). 900c som hade förgasarmotor slutade säljas i Sverige vid årsskiftet 1988/89, då det blev lag på att ha katalysatorer på bilarna. ABS-bromsar blev standard på Turbo, högt placerat bromljus bak på alla modeller från och med årsmodell 1988B och den katalysatorrenade Saab 900 Turbo 16 Aero fick effekten höjd från 160 hk DIN till 175 hk DIN. 1988 kom även handbromsen på bakhjulen.

  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
