Beschreibung

The current owner has owned the car for 30 years. When he bought the Swedish-sold Volvo Turbo at the Volvo dealer in Linköping, it had gone only 5,000 km. The car was then repainted in the original color due to the previous owner driving a lot on gravel road and thus stone chipped paintwork.
It’s fitted with Volvo's original R-Sport upholstery, alarm central locking and intercooler, which increased the power from 155 hp to 170 hp. The chassis was also tightened up with a Volvo original Holding Kit. A few years later, after consulting Volvo's racing department, it was changed to a sharper camshaft, new valve controls and the exhaust system was also changed to 2.5 inches diameter. A new clutch was replaced at 120,331 km. A tow bar approved for 1500 kg is also fitted.
The parts that were replaced during the intercooler assembly remain and accompany the car.

New price 1983 was SEK 86,200

Fakten zum Modell

Turboversionen var den dyraste prestandamodellen av Volvos familjevagn 240. Lanseringen skedde 1980 och de första bilarna såldes som årsmodell 1981. Året efter lanserades 245 Turbo. Bilarna var dock bara för vissa marknader och några till den svenska blev det aldrig de första åren. De första 245 Turbo som såldes i Sverige fick årsmodell 1984. Sista året för Turbon blev 1985 och då erbjöds bara kombiversionen.
Förutom motorn var det en rad specifika detaljer. På utsidan var det egentligen bara fälgarna av Volvos Virgomodell och emblemen som skiljde Turbo från GLT. Inuti var det tydligare med plyschklädsel och hastighetsmätare graderad till 220 km/h. Ratten var också speciell, liksom läderdamasken runt växelspaken. Dessutom fick sedanmodellen svart innertak.
Under huven satt en B21ET med turbo från amerikanska Garrett, och med 155 hk klarade 240 Turbo 0-100 km/h på 9 sekunder. Få bilar rullar dock idag med original oljekyld turbo eftersom de byttes mot vattenkylda när de havererade. Någon Intercooler satt aldrig original, däremot fanns den att köpa via Volvo R-Sport och med en sådan monterad fick motorn hela 170 hk.

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
