This car was in a worn original condition when the renovation started in 2005 and was completed in 2007. The entire renovation is carefully documented in RILEY BLADET (club magazine):

The owner then drove the after renovation until the spring of 2011 and then sold it on to a person in Norrland. This owner cared for the car well and then sold it to the current owner in 2018. The car is part of a collection and the owner’s only reason for selling is he has no time to enjoy it.

Fakten zum Modell
Rileys RM-serie utvecklades under andra världskriget och blev de sista bilarna som togs fram av Riley själva. Det rörde sig om helt nya modeller och uppdatering av de fyrcylindriga motorer som tillverkades alldeles före kriget. De största nyheterna var kuggstångsstyrning, den individuella framvagnsupphängningen med torsionsstavar och hydromekaniska bromsar. Karossen var ny men fortfarande mycket traditionell med en stomme av ask, som vilade på ett gediget chassi av stål. Taket var klätt med konstläder (pegamoid). Inredningen hade träpaneler och säten klädda med skinn.
RM-serien byggdes i två storlekar: RMA hade en mindre 1,5-litersmotor och kort hjulbas, medan den större RMB hade en 2,5-litersmotor och sex tum längre hjulbas. Bilarna delade kaross från torpedväggen och bakåt. Bilar med den mindre motorn försågs med ett mörkblått kylarmärke, medan de bilar som hade den större motorn fick ett ljusblått kylarmärke.
1949 stängdes Riley-fabriken i Coventry och tillverkningen flyttades till MG:s lokaler i Abingdon. Samtidigt uppdaterades bilarna med ny instrumentbräda.
Mellan 1949 och 1951 byggdes två öppna modeller med den större 2,5-litersmotorn: den 2/3-sitsig RMC och den fyrsitsiga RMD. Båda modellerna sålde sämre än väntat och försvann redan efter två år.
Hösten 1952 moderniserades de kvarvarande sedan-modellerna till RME respektive RMF. Bilarna fick hypoidbakaxel och helt hydrauliska bromsar. Ett år senare genomgick den mindre modellen en lätt uppdatering, då skärmarna modifierades och fotbrädorna under dörrarna försvann. Samtidigt ersattes den större RMF av den nya Riley Pathfinder.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
