This Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 was purchased brand new in January 1987 in Chicago for $17,000 by a Swedish engineer working for ASEA in the USA. The car was shipped to Sweden as part of household goods when the engineer moved back in 1991. Since then, the car has had several owners in Sweden. In 2014-15, it underwent a renovation, during which it received a new paint job, engine overhaul, among other things. The car retains a close-to-original appearance and is in good roadworthy condition. It was inspected at the end of August 2023 and was approved at the vehicle inspection. The car is well-equipped with Oldsmobile's V8 at 307 cubic inches, High Output producing 180 hp and 332 Nm, with the original calibrated Rochester four-barrel carburetor and a roller camshaft. The engine runs smoothly and steadily. The transmission is a Turbohydramatic four-speed automatic with a lock-up converter – TH200-4R. The rear axle is a GM BOP 10-bolt with a limited-slip differential and a 3.73:1 gear ratio. The car sits on its original “Five spoke chrome steel rally 15x7 inch” wheels equipped with 215/65/15 tires in good condition.

The engine runs mechanically well without unnecessary noise or rattling, and the four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive shifts smoothly and distinctly. The AC is not working, with the cause of the issue unknown. There's a loose connection in the electric seat. The cruise control works intermittently. The speedometer is calibrated in miles.

The interior is in good and well-maintained condition. The fabric upholstery is in good shape with minimal signs of wear. The headliner is in a clean and fine condition. Door panels, carpets, and the dashboard are also in good condition.

Professional repainting done about eight years ago. There's a small paint chip with rust bubbles low on the left rear fender, see photo. The paint is starting to peel in a small area near the rear edge of the sunroof. The sunroof has been sealed with body filler and cannot be opened. Wheels are in good condition, surface rust around the bolt holes, see photos. Tires with good tread.

Parallel to the Olds Cutlass 442, GM produced the Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS and the Buick Regal with a V6 turbo, both of which were similar to the Cutlass and built on the same popular G-body platform.
