Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
Everything works flawlessly. Engine and gearbox. The engine and gearbox have been preserved untouched according to the current owner. The car brakes as it should and no abnormal noises can be heard from the chassis. Some of the boots on the tie rod ends are slightly cracked.
The instruments also work flawlessly, with the exception of the clock. Fine tires from 2013 that have not covered many kilometers since they were mounted. Wheels in superb condition. -
Zustand Interieur
Here, the upholstery has been preserved from the original. The leather has been treated and is handsomely patinated. The seats have been partially re-stuffed. Fine panels and instruments. Headliner and carpets likewise.
-
Zustand Exterieur
A paint job that has held up very well despite being done over ten years ago. There is a small paint crack on the right front side of the hood. Not something you particularly notice, but good to know. The repaint was done in a color as close as possible to match the original color.

Zustand gesamt
A car in fantastic condition. Attractive color scheme and everything mechanical in full working order after many parts were replaced during the restoration. Just get in, turn the key, and enjoy.

Fakten zum Modell
The term "Series 1.5" is used informally for cars from approximately 1967–1968 that fall between the Series 1 and Series 2. They retain the Series 1 bodywork but feature several technical and practical updates introduced during the late 1960s.
What distinguishes the "Series 1.5" (and 1968 models) from early Series 1 cars
- Engines: the 4.2-litre inline-six was the most common. The original 3.8-litre engine had effectively been replaced by the 4.2-litre unit by the Series 1.5 period.
- Gearbox: synchromesh on all four gears.
- Brakes: outboard disc brakes front and rear, with improved components.
- Electrical upgrades: a dynamo was gradually replaced by an alternator on later models.
- Comfort and equipment: improved safety features, seats and interior trim.
- Bodywork: retained the smooth, low Series 1 profile.
Technical specifications (typical for the 4.2-litre E-Type Series 1.5, approximate)
- Engine: 4.2-litre inline-six with SU carburettors.
- Power: approximately 245–265 bhp, depending on the exact version and market specification.
- Gearbox: 4-speed manual (early versions lacked synchromesh on first gear, but the Series 1.5 had synchromesh on all four gears).
- Body styles: Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) and Roadster (Open Two Seater/OTS), as well as a 2+2 version in certain years.
The 1968 Series 1.5 is popular among collectors because it combines Series 1 styling with later practical improvements.
