Bil Bengtsson is a successful company that has been around for more than 90 years. Over the years, they have collected some cars that were worth saving for the future. As they now go through the collection, which needs to be reduced due to space constraints, several interesting vehicles are being sold. Most of them have been sitting for a while and need a startup service as well as a brake overhaul.
This Amazon has had only one previous owner and was added to the collection in 1991.

Original upholstery in good used condition needs reconditioning and new carpets. Holes in the driver's seats backrest and in the ceiling.

Fakten zum Modell
With the Amazon model, Volvo Cars AB initiated a new era where they challenged other car manufacturers with a beautiful body, high safety, and secure handling. The debut took place in 1956 and the model lived for a full 14 years, with the last Amazon being produced in 1970. The model series complemented both the older PV and the newer 140 series during its lifetime. In 1969, the Amazon's second-last year of production, the car was still considered attractive to Volvo customers due to its high reliability and robust construction.
The 121, the two-door version, is considered by many as the most beautiful Amazon variant. With its almost Italian line play - design chief Jan Wilsgaard was inspired by Italian cars of the time when he designed the Amazon in the early 1950s - and in black paint, the Amazon is both sober and elegant at the same time. According to Wilsgaard, American cars, and especially Kaiser, were also a source of inspiration.
The proven B18 powertrain with a four-speed manual gearbox is easy to service and maintain, and there are still plenty of parts available for the Amazon, including newly produced parts.
For the first eight years, the Amazon was produced at Volvo's original Lundby plant, but with the inauguration of the Torslanda plant in 1964, Amazon production was phased over to the completely new facility. The Amazon was also built in Belgian Gent and assembled in Halifax (Canada), Durban (South Africa), and Arica (Chile). In 1969, Volvo replaced the previous B18 engine in the Amazon with the newer and larger B20 engine, which gave extra power to an already strong Volvo model. The last Volvo Amazon was produced on July 3, 1970.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
