Solvig Magnusson was somewhat of a legend in the restaurant world of Gothenburg. She started at Kometen in 1938 and at the time of the Hillman's purchase, she ran the whole business. She stayed at Kometen for a full 70 years! The car was handed over as a wedding gift to her niece Madeleine in 1997 and a few years later, Madeleine also took over Kometen after her great-aunt Solvig. The car was sold to its current owner in 2012 - a Hillman enthusiast who, apart from an engine overhaul, has not needed to do much with the well-preserved car which has only driven 50 000 km.
Of this generation of Minx convertibles, there are only two cars in the swed9sh registry today.

Zustand technisch
Start easy and runs very well. Engine completely renovated about 10 years ago, all documentation is available. Since then, the car has been driven about 10 000 km. At the same time, the gearbox was replaced with one equipped with overdrive. Original gearbox is included. Towbar has been fitted. Everything works and the hood is of the 'three position drophead' type.

Zustand Interieur
Original upholstery in excellent condition. Has spent most of its time with an seat covers. Steering wheel, instruments, floor mats in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. At the back seat there is a wheel on each side to release the hood, one of them has been replaced by a crank.

Zustand Exterieur
This car is very nice and has been partially repainted. The underside and chassis have been heavily treated with Tectyl from the start. Some small rust spots have appeared at the bottom of the screen edges but nothing else is present. It is nice and solid in the luggage compartment, engine compartment and inner fenders. Chrome, grille, moldings and hubcaps are exceptionally nice and well-maintained. The sunroof shield is original and in good condition and the sunroof is very nice. However, it is rarely opened and may need some exercise to become smooth and tight again.

Fakten zum Modell
In 1956, the first generation with this body was introduced, and already two years later, they were at Series III with a 1500 engine and a new grille. In 1963, the thoroughly updated Series V was introduced with a new grille, flatter windows, and smaller 13-inch wheels with disc brakes in the front.
The body was originally designed by the world-famous designer Raymond Loewy.

Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
