Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

A complete restoration was carried out about 25 years ago, and since then, the machine has been well maintained. It runs smoothly, and everything functions flawlessly.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

Everything is in showroom condition, and there is nothing to fault. The machine is in incredibly fine condition with very few signs of use.

  • Zustand gesamt:

An amazingly fine Husqvarna that fits just as well in a museum as it does at summer vintage car meetings.

Fakten zum Modell

Husqvarna's Model 50TV was introduced just before the onset of the Great Depression, featuring a 500cc OHV JAP engine and Sturmey-Archer gearbox in a sturdy open frame. The forks were a robust parallelogram design following the 1930s Webb design, likely the best fork in the world at the time for lightness and strength, with the ability to withstand a good front brake, which the Model 50 had: an 8-inch Enfield-type brake on both front and rear wheels. The mudguards were wide on the Model 50, but narrower on the Model 50TV, which initially used the JAP dog-ear OHV engine (KO/S) with exposed rocker gear, although later versions had the J-type engine with enclosed rocker gear. The Model 50TVX even used a Sturmey-Archer OHV engine. It was a true sports motorcycle - with a 30 hp engine - and came standard with a compression plate under the cylinder, which could be removed to raise the compression ratio from 7.3:1 to 8.3:1. With a beautifully painted tank and fishtail exhaust in Brooklands style, the Model 50 had performance comparable to the best sports motorcycles of the time. The price was 1815 Swedish kronor, including full Bosch electrical equipment and even an electric horn.
