Beschreibung

Ford Falcon Sprint arrived in Sweden in 2008. It has had two users in Sweden. The previous owner began construction to get the car approved according to App K, which was completed by the current owner in 2021. The car took part in the Midnight Sun Rally 2022. The car has competed in two rallies and two hillclimbs. The car is mechanically superb and properly serviced.

The odometer cannot be read. It is registered as a T71ZO Standard rally car.
The owner is selling the car to focus on another rally project.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    Fitted with a 289cui V8 engine that was built in 2020-2021 and is expected to produce roughly 300hp. T-10 gearbox from Borg-Warner. Front 4-piston calipers and rear drums have been replaced. Engine room fire extinguishing system. Richmond 3.50 rear axle limited slip. All around Bilstein dampers. Two pairs of wheels are included. Hankook gravel tires on Minilite 15x5.5 alloy rims and older Michelin WRC winter tires with 7mm studs. Take a look at the photos. Renovated radiator with an additional electric fan.
    Engine starts easily. Technically, the rally is in normal operating condition.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    The interior is purely rally appropriate for its purpose, with no sound dampening. The card doors are made of aluminum and fitted roll cage. Take a look at the photos. Six-point seat belts and seats have been authorized by the FIA.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    Paintwork is older and has blemishes, scratches, touch-ups, and some minor cracking. It serves its purpose well "see pictures". Chrome and glossy trims in good condition. Straight through the body, with good shut line on the bonnet and doors. Exterior boot lid and bonnet quick opening locks. Gravel-blasted wing edges and, to a lesser extent, thresholds have resulted in surface rust "see pcitures".

  • Zustand gesamt:

    The car is in good condition for its intended function.

Jag byggde bilen för att köra midnattsolsrallyt 2021. Det var en kamp mot klockan att hinna få bilen klar och godkänd av FIA för historisk racing. Tyvärr ställdes rallyt in 2021, så vi fick vänta till 2022. Då kördes bilen med startnummer 16 . Den är godkänd enligt Appendix K, Class CT10 (period F 1962 -1965) för både nationellt och internationellt tävlande i racing, backtävling och rally.

Fakten zum Modell

Ford Falcon Sprint var en högpresterande version av Ford Falcon, en bilmodell som tillverkades av Ford Motor Company i USA från 1960 till 1970. Falcon Sprint introducerades 1963 som en del av andra generationens Falcon-modellserie.

Falcon Sprint var en av de första bilarna som kom att bli en del av muskelbilsperioden i USA. Dess högpresterande motor och sportiga utseende lockade många köpare som var ute efter prestanda. Falcon Sprint anses vara en av de mer ikoniska muskelbilarna från 1960-talet.

Under åren som följde fick Falcon Sprint en rad mindre förändringar och uppgraderingar, inklusive nya motoralternativ och stylinguppdateringar. Modellen fortsatte att tillverkas fram till 1970, då den ersattes av Ford Maverick.

Idag är Ford Falcon Sprint en eftertraktad bil för samlare och entusiaster av muskelbilar. Dess höga prestanda och ikoniska design har gjort den till en eftertraktad klassiker på bilmarknaden.

För svenskar intresserade av historisk racing är Ford Falcon Sprint mest förknippad med legendariska Kungens kurir, Bosse Ljungfeldt. Bosse körde en av de 8 fabriksbyggda Falcon Sprint. Med startnummer 49 var han snabbast på samtliga specialsträckor i Monte Carlo-rallyt 1964. Han vann sin klass och blev totalt tvåa i tävlingen. 1964 hade man nämligen uppfunnit en ny regel som innebar att ju större cylindervolym, desto snabbare måste köra man för att vara prickfri. Cylindervolymsregeln gjorde att det bara räckte till en andraplats efter Paddy Hopkirk, i en Mini Cooper S.
