Beschreibung
The car comes from the Sandahl collections, which Bilweb Auctions AB will sell in early spring over four different themes; starting with some of the family's popular workhorses, primarily Mercedes, Volkswagen, and a wildcard, then half a dozen exclusive fine Rolls-Royces and Jaguars, followed by a selection of early Ford cars and a Chevrolet from the infancy and youth of motoring. The last will be nine different prize-winning and representative full-size USA cars from 1959, the year when the fins were at their largest.
Today, Sandahls is one of Sweden's largest family-owned transport conglomerates. The company was founded in Värnamo in 1949. Older generations have in their private museum collected about 40 cars under various themes for many years. Bilweb Auctions AB has now been tasked with selling these in four rounds in February and March this year.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
BWA hasn't started the car, but the engine turns over with the starter. The car, easily maneuverable, requires a full review and service. The engine bay is clean with newer parts fitted, but there's a mismatch with the newly fitted 12-volt battery, which we believe should be a 6-volt instead. The wheels are nicely painted, complemented by original hubcaps and older white wall tires in good condition.
-
Zustand Interieur
The interior has been renovated and reupholstered at some point, and it remains very clean and a nice place to sit and enjoy. The carpets still look like new, and the seats are in good condition, with only minor damage on the front seat edges (refer to pictures) and a small mark on the rear seats. The door cards and headliner are in good shape and would benefit from a valet to look even nicer. The dashboard and instrumentation retain their nice, original appearance, though there is a paint crack on the left side above the glove box (see pictures).
-
Zustand Exterieur
The older renovation, which appears to have been done over 30 years ago, has endured well, and the car still presents itself impressively. However, upon closer inspection, small blisters can be noticed around the door edges near the windows and the top edges of the wings (refer to pictures). The bodywork is straight and undamaged, with a clean and well-maintained underbody. In the engine bay, some paintwork has flaked off and cracked in places (see pictures). The chrome detailing remains bright but shows some wear and oxidation on the rear bumper and around the rear window frame. There's also broken glass on the tail light and a loose rubber seal.
-
Zustand gesamt
After inspecting the engine, it appears to be in good condition with many new parts, suggesting it should be straightforward to get it running with standard service work. The cosmetic issues aren't urgent and can be addressed over time. It's a smart-looking coupe from the 1940s.
