The most recent inspection was in July of 2016. The meter indicated 53,008 miles when the car landed in Sweden; now it reads 53,174 miles. That suggests the car was only driven 270 miles after arriving here. Unfortunately, the car has since been parked in a garage.
The car is outfitted with a towbar and rear air suspension (Air-Lift).

Zustand technisch
Custom Racing in Örebro renovated an engine in the spring and winter of 2017. The previous owner also completed a lot of his own work, such as underbody inspection and painting. During the inspection, the car could not be started, but the engine rolls around. Because the car has been sitting for some time, the new owner should perform a check and servicing.
Both in terms of the previous owner's efforts, information, and what could be seen during the examination, the body and undercarriage appear to be in good condition, however no promises can be offered due to the car's age and partly unknown past.
Certain electrical equipment could be checked during the examination, and everything looks to be operational but requires overhaul and service. -
Zustand Interieur
The entire front and back of the sofa appear to have been reupholstered. The door sides and roof are most likely original. The floor is covered in fabric carpeting. The dashboard, instrumentation, and controls are all original, however various gauges and equipment have been retrofitted.

The color is a nice light blue with off-white stripes and a plenty of chrome. The car was definitely renovated and painted a few years ago, although it's impossible to say. The paintwork, chrome, and glass are all in good condition, although there are some minor scratches, dents, and wear. Damage to the left front wing approaching the door. The tires appear to be in fair condition, and all hubcaps are present. Numerous intriguing features and a flurry of design solutions from the late 1950s. Boot and engine compartment are in good shape.

Zustand gesamt
For its time, this was an extremely elegant and luxury car. It has been standing since 2017 and deserves to get back on the road. Fundamentally, a well-kept classic that, with an inspection and servicing, will please the next owner and anybody else who sees it pass by.

Fakten zum Modell
Mot slutet av 50-talet när Ford hade sin nya Edsel på G, beslöt man sig för att knuffa Mercury uppåt i värdekedjan närmare Lincoln. Till 1957 tog de så fram en ny modell Turnpike. Det var en uppgradering av Montclairversionen och fanns som två- och fyrdörrars hardtop samt cabriolet. Motorer erbjöds med 6,0 - 7,0L. De var utrustade med Merc-O-Matic automatisk växellåda och dåtidens elektriska lyxutrustning. Elektriska fönsterhissar och t.o.m. en bakruta som kunde fällas ner, kallad Breezeway samt tryckknappsautomat etc.
Mycket av design och olika detaljer andades den "rymd- och raketålder" världen var inne i då. Vagnarna var och mycket riktigt rikligt utrustade med mycket krom och ljusarrangemang. Det blev bara två årsmodeller. Mot slutet av 50-talet blev det ju sisådär för Ford, bl.a. med den nya modellen Edsel som floppade. Samtidigt hade krom och fenhysterin nått vägens ände och relativt snabbt ställdes bilproduktionen om till en mer avskalad och kompakt design. En Mercury Montclair Turnpike är en av den tidens verkliga designklassiker med extra allt.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
