Beschreibung

It was sold new in Spain in the spring and had only one owner in its home country before being imported to Sweden in 2018. The Tarjeta Inspecciones Técnicas Periódicas bears stamps from annual inspections, though no formal service book is included. The chassis number—serving as the primary identifier on all 2CV derivatives—is located on the front of the right chassis rail.

The teacher who originally owned the car didn’t drive it much, but according to reports, she took good care of it and ensured it received regular servicing between inspections.

This numbered Dyane model, the Edelweiss, was built in Citroën’s Spanish factory in Vigo in a limited run of 750 units. It featured light blue metallic paint, modern black side mirrors, a small luggage rack on the tailgate, black desert-style bumpers, unique hubcaps, Edelweiss graphics, and taillights borrowed from the Citroën LN/LNA.

The current owner bought the car in autumn 2020 from its first Swedish owner, who had driven it all the way home from Spain two years earlier. The most recent approved inspection was carried out just over a year ago, on 2024-05-02.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    Starts easily with initial choke and sounds and feels just as this type of car should. The clutch engages a bit high and abruptly, but that’s a matter of adjustment. The brakes bite effectively with a confident feel—typical for Citroën 2CVs and their derivatives.

    This car is equipped with what's known in enthusiast circles as a skivbromsväxellåda ("disc brake gearbox")—meaning that, starting with the 1981 models, it features front disc brakes and, notably, a brake system that uses the green mineral oil LHM (Liquide Hydraulique Minéral).

    This is the same hydraulic fluid used in larger Citroëns for their suspension, braking, and steering systems. LHM is easier to handle than conventional brake fluid, as it’s not hygroscopic (doesn’t absorb water) and is far less aggressive toward paint and surfaces.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    The interior received new blue upholstery in Sweden. The diamond-patterned fabric also appeared in 2CV Charleston models, though the original Edelweiss upholstery featured a simpler design. The owner has painted the inner fenders in a blue metallic color to give the engine bay a fresher appearance.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    The car was repainted in its original color at some point in Spain, and a new set of original decals was applied at that time. When it was imported to Sweden, it was fitted with a new soft top made from quality fabric. The hardtop—commonly used in Spain as sun protection—is still with the car (see photo).

    The rubber seals around the rear windows are a bit tired, and the functionality of the inner door handles for the rear doors is uncertain. It’s fitted with older Novex tires that still have good tread, mounted on wheels with the model-specific hubcaps. The fuel filler cap is a simpler, temporary replacement type.

  • Zustand gesamt:

    Both the Dyane and 2CV were offered in a variety of special editions, each with its own playful concept and distinctive design—featuring unique paint, colors, trim, and decal sets.

    The Dyane Edelweiss is one of the rarer versions, and this example stands out with its charming character and low mileage condition.

Fakten zum Modell

The Citroën Dyane was introduced in 1967 as an updated version of the 2CV, which continued to be produced alongside it. It was launched as a response to the growing popularity of the Renault 4. The Dyane featured a semi-hatchback tailgate and a more modern interior compared to the 2CV.

Its underlying construction was the same: a two-cylinder air-cooled engine, horizontal coil spring suspension, and a fabric roof that rolled back. The model was also offered as a van version called the Acadiane. The most powerful engine available produced 32 hp.

The Dyane was positioned between the 2CV and the Ami 6/8 in Citroën’s lineup, resulting in the brand offering three small cars on the same platform that partially competed with one another. The Dyane was soon upgraded with the larger 602 cm³ engine from the Ami, although from 1970, this engine was also made available in the 2CV.

Both the Ami and Dyane sold well, especially in the French domestic market. Still, the humble 2CV outlasted both of its more modern siblings, continuing in production long after they were discontinued.

Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
