Beschreibung
The current owner—a Porsche and sports car enthusiast since a young age, with both a 356 Cabriolet and a 911 Targa on his résumé—acquired the car in March 2014. Since then, he has driven approximately 30,000 km (3,000 enthusiast miles). It has always been garage-kept, never driven in winter, and consistently serviced and maintained. Inspection records, receipts, and related documentation have been carefully preserved in a binder that accompanies the car.
The IMS bearing was replaced in 2011, and in 2014 both the convertible top and the cabriolet motor were renewed. The original folder with manuals, cards, codes, and a set of spare keys is included.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
Starts easily and runs smoothly, with a calm and composed feel. During a test drive on country roads and in residential areas, everything performed well—stable and confidence-inspiring in terms of steering, clutch, gear changes, road holding, and brakes. A quality car through and through.
Not inspected on a lift, but what could be observed appeared to be in good condition. Rustproofed, never driven in winter, and with no remarks noted at inspections. -
Zustand Interieur
Very fine and well-preserved original interior. The seats offer excellent comfort. Steering wheel, controls, and dashboard are all in good condition. All gauges and electrical functions are working, including GPS and phone features. The air conditioning blows cold.
-
Zustand Exterieur
Glossy and well-presented, what appears to be original paint with normal, light signs of wear consistent with age and mileage, including a few minor stone chips. The soft top is in good condition and seals well, with flawless operation; there is a small 3–4 cm scratch on the upper section, but no hole. A hardtop with stand is included. Under the current ownership, the car has mostly been garage-kept and used only during the brighter months of the year. Attractive wheels fitted with Falken tires.
After the photo session, the car sustained a minor parking damage. This was handled through insurance, with the rear section/bumper replaced and repainted. -
Zustand gesamt
A fine and well-maintained car that truly demonstrates what Porsche is capable of—both on the road and in terms of build quality. Now over 25 years old and steadily stepping into classic and enthusiast status.

Fakten zum Modell
In any case, it was a success from the very start. The 911 was not originally offered as a cabriolet like its predecessor, the 356, but a Targa version was introduced in September 1965—first with a plastic rear window, which after a couple of years became fixed and made of glass. Safety concerns were the primary reason why a conventional cabriolet was not on the agenda during the 1970s. Many manufacturers discontinued convertible models during this period, but in the early 1980s they began to return—Porsche included. From the 1983 model year, cabriolets were once again offered.
Despite ventures into front-engined models and attempts to phase out the 911 in favor of new designations, Porsche eventually relented—the 911 lives on stronger than ever.
The 996 generation arrived in 1998, now water-cooled and sharing several design cues with the new Boxster. It was both larger and more comfortable than previous generations. Standard models were the Carrera, available as coupé, cabriolet, and Targa. This generation also introduced double overhead camshafts and four-valve cylinder heads. Early cars featured a 3.4-liter rear-mounted engine, updated to 3.6 liters in 2002.
Porsche purists criticized the perceived loss of raw sports car character, arguing that the model had moved closer to a grand tourer. In reality, however, the market broadened, attracting new buyers to the 996. The generation was produced through the 2005 model year, with a total of approximately 175,262 units built.
