Beschreibung
The current owner acquired the car in November 2023. Wanting a cleaner and more streamlined appearance, he chose to remove the large bumpers. The front indicator lights were relocated directly onto the bodywork, and aluminum ventilation grilles were installed over the former bumper mounting openings. The removed bumpers have been kept and can be included with the car if the buyer wishes.
All inspection records dating back to the car’s import in 2003 are included. The odometer currently reads 76,020 km. We cannot confirm whether this reflects the car’s total mileage since new, although the recorded mileage progression since 2003 appears logical.
The current owner also owns a British sports car, but does not have the time to use both vehicles, which is why the Spider is now being offered for sale.
A spare wheel is included. The jack and owner’s manual are missing. One ignition key is included.
This is a remote auction. The photos and information regarding the car and its technical condition have been provided by the owner. BWA has therefore not carried out an on-site inspection of the vehicle.

The car received a full repaint in 2003, which still presents well today. There are a few minor cosmetic imperfections on the exterior, including some stone chips, a small dent on the hood, and a door ding/scratch on the left front fender.
The soft top shows wear in two areas, see photos. The underside has been thoroughly rustproofed with Tectyl treatment, and rust protection has also been applied internally in the chassis rails and cavities. -
Zustand gesamt
Cool, stylish, and full of sporty character — that best sums up the overall impression of this car.

Fakten zum Modell
The range included traditional four- and five-door body styles, but also two-door versions, a Coupé, and a Cabriolet (Spider).
The Spider, unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1966, was designed and built by Pininfarina. It featured one of Fiat’s proudest engineering achievements: the twin-cam DOHC engine paired with a five-speed gearbox. While the other body styles were gradually discontinued — with the Coupé ending production in 1977 — the Spider continued to be manufactured and exported to the United States, where it remained highly popular.
For the 1979 model year, Fiat introduced a larger 2.0-liter engine to compensate for stricter American emissions regulations. At the same time, the car officially changed name to the Fiat Spider 2000 on the U.S. market. During the final years leading up to 1981, the Spider was actually produced exclusively for the American market and was not even sold in Europe. In total, around 75% of all Fiat 124 Spiders produced (approximately 170,000 cars) ended up in North America.
In 1982, Fiat quietly stepped away from production, and the Spider continued under the Pininfarina name as the Pininfarina Spidereuropa. European sales also resumed at this point, but by 1985 production finally came to an end. During its production years, the Spider shared assembly lines with several other notable convertibles, including its Alfa Romeo namesake and the Peugeot 404 and 504 Cabriolet.
