Only a little over 100 five-door 99 Turbos were produced in 1978, and they were exclusively available in Cardinal Red, just like this one. Adding to the car's unusual history, it was registered in 1978 with a replacement engine. Unfortunately, Saab heritage records do not exist for these early Turbo models, so the story behind this replacement engine cannot be verified. Nevertheless, this car remains a rare and remarkable find, and is definitely worth preserving and renovating. Additionally, it comes with plenty of older paperwork and a handbook.

Zustand technisch
All of the components under the bonnet are present, but the car has not been tested or started for over a decade. As a result, a complete overhaul, service, and inspection will be necessary to get it back on the road. The car also comes with a full set of Inca Alloy wheels, although they are fitted with older tires.

Zustand Interieur
The interior of the car is fully intact, complete with Turbo instrumentation and dashboard that shows no signs of cracked plastic. The seats have always been covered with red seat covers, but upon removing the front covers, the original seats appear to be in good condition and are fully intact. The carpets and door cards are in good shape and standard hanging headliner. A 1980s sky port sunroof has been retrofitted to the car.

Zustand Exterieur
Bodywork is complete and straight and has been partly repainted at some point. The lower edges and the door and floors have older welding work and general scratches and blister can be found around the bodywork, The main rust issues can be found around the upper and lower sills, inner door arches and underbody "see pictures" The cars needs a full body renovaton and repaint. The owner mentioned that the pervouis owner replaced the bootlid, the older one had the rubber spoiler.

Zustand gesamt
This car represents a unique and interesting piece of Saab history, and it would be a worthwhile investment for a dedicated Saab enthusiast to devote their time and money towards its renovation. By doing so, this car can be preserved for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
