This particular copy is sold for a Mercedes collector's estate. He bought the car from his neighbour and friend (who also collected nice cars) in 1987 and has only driven it on solemn occasions, (according to his secretary). (The paint is untouched and original without damage. There are some stone chips above the headlights on the hood. Bumpers and other chrome parts look like new, as well as rubber seals and in the engine compartment. This is probably due to the car being in a heated garage, since new. The car has travelled 200,700 km and most of this distance before 1999 because after 1997 it has not been on the car test.
The body and chassis are free of rust, except for plastic plugs on the sills that are drilled for cavity rust protection treatment, see the pictures on the sills. At the bottom, the car looks like new.

After 1999, the car was apparently started on a regular basis and utilised on sombre occasions: It's been in traffic the entire time. When we checked the car, the engine started and then stopped. We haven't done any troubleshooting. This must be corrected by the buyer. The engine is supposed to operate extremely well, but be prepared to service the ignition or fuel supply.
The exhaust system appears to be stainless steel, with a poorly sealed junction in the centre of the car (see image). The bonnet is tough to open. Only one front lock on one corner opens immediately; on the other side, one person must push down the hood while the other pulls from the inside. The photographs of the engine are absent since the photographer was unable to open the bonnet without assistance. The engine and engine compartment, on the other hand, are nearly brand new, free of dirt, rust, and oxide. -

Super nice original interior, no traces of wear or damage. Door cards, dashboard and headliner as well. only a little wear on the floor mat on the driver's side.

Straight and fine body with original paint in good condition. Needs only waxing to increase the gloss slightly.

This is actually one of the finest older pristine S-Class cars (W116) we've seen. Fantastically nice unrenovated body and interior. The above remarks and problems with hood and start are easy to fix in connection with a service. Then the car needs a new inspection/MOT. A perfect car for wedding driving, events and other festive driving. Opportunity for the discerning MB enthusiast.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
