"A beautiful 60s model with all the extras from across the Atlantic, originally delivered new to Sweden. It’s in good running condition with charming patina and some details that could be improved. Otherwise, just fire up the V8 and head out cruising to the sound of a deep rumble. There’s plenty of space for friends and luggage."

Beschreibung

This car was first registered for road use on October 17, 1969. Reportedly, it was originally light green but was repainted in the mid-1990s. It appears to have had only a few owners in its early years, and from 1995 to 2019, it was owned by the same person. The current owner acquired the car in December 2021 and has used it as a hobby/cruising vehicle, but is now prioritizing studies.

The car was recently serviced with an oil change, new spark plugs, and filters. The odometer reads 6,930 km. Whether it has rolled over once or more is unknown, but cars of this type typically haven’t seen excessive use—so it may very well be just one round, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Equipped with a practical tow hitch. Comes with two sets of keys, is inspection-exempt, and ready to drive.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

Starts easily and runs well in both engine and drivetrain. During a relaxed test drive through a residential area and a small main road, the car cruised along comfortably, with key components such as steering, handling, automatic transmission, and brakes performing well—true to that unmistakable 1960s American feel.

The car has not been inspected on a lift, but based on what could be seen, all vital parts appeared to be in good condition. No remarks from previous inspections.

  • Zustand Interieur:

Nice original interior with well-preserved seats, door panels, headliner, and carpets—especially considering the car’s age. Additional textile floor mats are included. The steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and gauges are all in good condition.

Unfortunately, some of the premium features from the era are not currently working, such as the trunk release, cruise control, A/C, and a few others. However, all vital functions are operational, and the windows can be controlled from the driver’s side. The original radio is included, though its functionality is uncertain. A more modern stereo unit is also installed.

Overall, it’s a pleasant interior that could use a bit of care, and most of the electrical features should be possible to restore.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

Attractive color combination with a good vinyl roof and a nice paint job showing some signs of regular use. There are areas, such as on the trunk lid, showing signs of filler spray and other minor imperfections. Glass, chrome, trim, emblems, and lighting details are in good condition, with only minor damage and wear. The trim around the vinyl roof on the right side above the side window is not original.

The wheels/hubcaps are in good shape, as are the tires. The engine bay and trunk are in line with the rest of the car. Overall, the exterior is in good usable condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with its history.

  • Zustand gesamt:

Now offered as a usable classic where the new owner can decide the level of restoration or preservation moving forward. While there are certainly details to address, a Swedish-sold classic American car from the luxury and premium segment is a rare find—making this an enthusiast and collector’s vehicle of genuine motor historical interest.

Fakten zum Modell

Cadillac – Established in 1903 and named after the French explorer Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, who founded Fort Detroit in 1701.
The company was founded by Henry M. Leland and Henry Ford, both of whom would go on to become major figures in the American automotive industry. As early as 1909, Cadillac became part of General Motors. Over the years, the brand built a reputation ranging from taxicabs to premium vehicles, always emphasizing quality and luxury. While many competitors struggled during the 1920s and ’30s, Cadillac weathered the storm relatively well. After World War II, production resumed quickly, continuing its path of luxury and prestige.

The Fleetwood name was used by Cadillac over the years for various models—often for limousines or as a more luxurious trim level. From 1976 to 1996, Fleetwood was also a full-size luxury model in its own right, a traditional car with front-engine and rear-wheel drive. In the mid-1980s, Fleetwood was also used for a smaller front-wheel-drive car, which occasionally caused some confusion.

Eldorado was a Cadillac model produced from 1953 to 2003, often positioned as their most expensive offering. It spanned eleven generations. The eighth generation, built from 1967 to 1970, made a significant impact—not just with a new design, but also by becoming front-wheel-drive. It shared its so-called E-body platform with the Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado. The 1969 model came in a single version: a two-door hardtop. Under the hood was a 472 cu in (7.7L) V8 producing 375 hp, paired with a three-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission.

With imposing dimensions—5.61 meters long and 2.02 meters wide—it was a serious machine to move around. But it came equipped with every imaginable luxury and comfort of its time. In the Fleetwood version, this included leather interior, vinyl roof, and all the extras.
