"An all-around enjoyable and pleasant car with the right attributes and attitude. It combines charm, sportiness, and practicality as a classic car, creating a delightful synergy."

Beschreibung

Registered on May 15, 1972, it appears to have lived a relatively calm and pleasant life here. According to reports, it received a new left door and thresholds in the early 90s, probably also a painting of the entire car. The current owner has cared for the car for 20 years and has driven it sparingly as an enthusiast car. In addition to standard equipment, it is equipped with a nice sunroof, overdrive, and wire wheels. Also, a typical Blaupunkt radio from the time. Inner fenders at the front and an electric cooling fan for stable cooling have been retrofitted. Also, an alarm/immobilizer is installed that works but can be a little difficult to operate.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

Starts easily and runs smoothly. During the test drive, the car felt stable and tight. It responds well to the gas pedal, and the gear shifting, including the overdrive, operates smoothly. The brakes are in good condition. Although the car hasn't been inspected on a lift, the visible components appear to be in good shape.

  • Zustand Interieur:

Both the seats and door panels, including the upholstery, carpets, and headliner, are in great condition. The dashboard, steering wheel, and luggage compartment are also in fine shape.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

The car has a nice and glossy paint job, with some stone chips and scratches, as well as a few blisters near the right rear fender edge by the B-pillar. The glass, plastic, and rubber components are in good condition and have a shiny appearance. The wheels are in good shape, and the tires (Yokohama) are in decent condition.

  • Zustand gesamt:

The MGB, whether with or without a roof, has long been a desirable classic. Here, you get the best of both worlds—a practical little shooting brake with space and the opportunity to enjoy the wind in your hair and an open sky. Moreover, it is in excellent condition, a delightful classic from the era of British sports cars.

Fakten zum Modell

In the late 1950s, the project for the MGB as the successor to the MGA was initiated. In September 1962, the new roadster was unveiled and received positively by both the motoring press and buyers. The 1798cc engine with twin SU carburetors provided excellent performance. The gearbox was a four-speed, but for a modest extra cost, buyers could opt for an electric overdrive.

From 1965, the technology was improved with a five-bearing crankshaft, an oil cooler as standard, and an electric tachometer. That year also saw the introduction of a stylish and practical three-door 2+2 coupe version called the GT, featuring a fashionable hatchback design by Pininfarina. This was done to accommodate hunting gear, golf clubs, and other sports and leisure equipment in the sports car. While there is another British classic car that carries the nickname "dog kennel," this particular car, even more so, is a car for a couple of West Highland White Terriers in the back. The small rear seat had a fold-down backrest. Two years later, a six-cylinder engine was also available for the little car, with both convertible and coupe options.

For the 1970 model year, the radiator received a new appearance, and Rostyle aluminum wheels replaced the steel wheels. Wire wheels, as always, could be ordered throughout the years.

The model even experienced the addition of a V8 engine from Rover. Production lasted until 1981. Later variants were made, and one can practically build a new car today using newly manufactured bodies and various parts. This is a beloved and cherished model that never goes out of style. According to reports, 125.285 GT versions were produced.
