The last 544 - with chassis number 440000 - rolled off the assembly line just over a month later on October 20th, 1965. The car was delivered on January 16th 1966 to Ivar Sandberg in Degerfors. Ivar rarely drove it, mostly on weekends and never in the rain. It stayed in the family as it eventually was handed over to Ivar's son Rolf who performed the same kind of usage and maintenance over the years until now.

Already from the start on cranking the 75 hp B18 engine up you can tell that this is something very special. No tappet noise from the valves as normal on this engine, and all the pedals, sticks and buttons has that new car feeling and resistance in them.

Extraordinary well maintained interior and upholstery. You can really tell that this car has covered just over 30 000 km's.

Original paintwork with a repainted rear right wing due to a damage in traffic. Some small scratches can be found (pics) on both the paintwork and the chromework, but overall the finish is very presentable and pretty in Pearl White.

This is a Volvo 544 of its very last breed in a untouched pristine, hardly run in, low mileage condition. And on top of that a sweet owner's history to it. The car is truly representing something very desirable to a Volvo enthusiast and collector.
