Rolls-Royce 20hp "Twenty" Cabriocach 3.2l/6cyl — 1927

The model is called Twenty and was Rolls' most modern car in the 1920s. The car starts but brakes need to be reviewed and it’s had an older renovation. It’s a display at Arvika's car museum for many years and sold unregistered.

Beschreibung

The car is unregistered and documents are missing. We have also not been able to find the chassis number, but the car has had the same owner since 1977 and the buyer receives a receipt and information about known history, for possible registration in the future. The buyer will have to find out for himself if it can be registered. Sold as a project car - exhibits, i.e. unregistered without more documents than receipt.
The car was purchased in 1977 by Lennart Johansson, the founder of the Arvika car museum, and has since been displayed at the museum for various periods of time. It's a lovely car with a 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine and plenty of nice details.
We don't know who built the bodywork, but the rear section appears to have been added later, and the car was converted to a convertible model? Maybe when the car was being restored? The car was renovated by Lennart Johansson after he purchased it from a collector along with several other English cars imported from England a few years before (as was the MG, which is also at the auction).

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    It starts and runs, but the throttle hacks a little. The tank is most likely in need of cleaning because it has been sitting for a long time and the workshop recently ran out of old gasoline and replaced it with new.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    The leather upholstery, which is in generally good condition, will require cleaning. It's an older renovation, but it's still in great shape.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    It’s in good condition both inside and out, and it could enhance with a good clean and polish.

  • Zustand gesamt:

    This magnificent car has a strong presence and stands out. It appears to be in good working order and should perform admirably after a thorough inspection and service.

Denna bil säljs oregistrerad som utställningsobjekt / reservdelsbil. Gamla registreringshandlingar saknas. Köparen får ett kvitto av Bilwebauctions, där det framgår att ägaren ägt bilen i 40 år och att bilen tillhört ett museums samlingar. Fakten zum Modell

Rolls-Royce 20hp (Twenty) tillverkades i England mellan 1922 och 1929. Den svaga ekonomin efter första världskriget tvingade Rolls-Royce att överge sin enmodellspolitik och 1922 introducerades den mindre, mer moderna och mer prisvärda modellen 20hp, eller Twenty (namnet hänvisar till den brittiska skatteklassen, inte motoreffekten). Den nya bilen var helt nyutvecklad och på många sätt mer avancerad än den äldre Silver Ghost, med toppventilsmotor med avtagbart cylinderhuvud, hjulupphängning med längsgående bladfjädrar och centralt placerad växelspak. Äldre Rolls-bilar hade växelspaken placerad längst till höger, ute vid förardörren. Detta var ett arv från tiden med sekventiell växellåda. Dock flyttades växelspaken till höger sida även på Twenty redan 1925, efter krav från konservativa brittiska kunder och där blev den kvar på alla högerstyrda Rolls-bilar till 1955, då automatlåda infördes som standard.
Den sexcylindriga motorn hade cylinderdiametern 76,2 mm och slaglängden 114,3 mm, vilket ger en cylindervolym på 3127 cm³. Effekten var 53 hk och var lite lite med en tung limousine-kaross med med cabrolet/cabricoach gick den bra. Växellådan var först treväxlad, med från 1925 infördes fyrväxlad låda. Tidiga bilar hade mekaniska bromsar endast på bakhjulen, men 1925 kom fyrhjulsbromsar med servo.

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
