Beschreibung

It was delivered to its first owner in October 1976 by the GM dealer Rönne-Lotz in Halmstad. He drove and serviced the car for 20,000 km before a new owner took over in 1977, who in turn used it until 1988 and 155,000 km, when the car was retired from daily use and became an enthusiast vehicle. This owner and the current one have written a short history of the car, stating that it underwent partial bodywork, including a new right front wing and repairs to the right door. An engine rebuild was also carried out. All of this is recorded in the accompanying documentation (with photos). The most recent approved inspection, and the final one required under current regulations, was carried out on 1 August 2024.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    Lively engine and a gearbox that shifts smoothly and precisely. No unwanted noises from the suspension. The carburettor has been replaced with a new one featuring an open air filter; the original air cleaner and carburettor are included, along with some other parts (see photos).

  • Zustand Interieur:

    Plush interior in fine original condition, along with well-preserved and attractive original wood-effect trim around the gauges and on the centre console. Some form of heat damage is present on the right side of the passenger seat. Good carpets, a small stain on the headlining, and a slightly cracked storage compartment on the left side of otherwise nice door panels. An additional interior-adjustable mirror control for the right door is also included, complementing the same type fitted on the driver’s side. A charming detail is the preserved (function uncertain) heated seat button in German, located on the left side of the driver’s seat.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    Nice and tidy paintwork, with probably everything except the right front wing and right door being the car’s original paint. According to notes from a previous owner (see photo), the right front wing was replaced, and the right door was repaired. The photos show a clear difference in shade between these parts and the rest of the car. The notes also mention a full repaint, but this likely only applied to the door and wing. The previous owner has passed away, so these assumptions cannot be verified; however, at first glance around the doors and trim, it appears untouched.

  • Zustand gesamt:

    A stylish and appealing representative of the model series’ final year, in well-preserved condition with fine history, few owners, and good documentation.

Fakten zum Modell

The Rekord D series was produced between 1972 and 1977. It was a mid-size car, popular both as a family vehicle and as a company car in Europe, competing with models such as the Ford Taunus and Volvo 240. The D series was available in several body styles: sedan, estate, and coupé. The 1.9 L version was powered by a straight four-cylinder engine of 1,897 cm³, producing around 90 hp depending on carburettor specification and market. It could be had with a manual gearbox (4-speed and also 5-speed) or an automatic. By 1976, the model was in its final years of production before being replaced by the Rekord E in 1977. The Rekord D was known for being robust and straightforward, and the 1900 engine was regarded as reliable and easy to service — qualities that no doubt contributed to many examples remaining on the road for a long time, even in the harsh Nordic climate.

  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.

  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
