"The owner has dedicated 8 years to renovating this car. Since it was hand-built by Facel, the restoration required countless hours of handcraft and metalwork to renovate the body, followed by a complete overhaul of the engine and mechanical parts. Beschreibung

The owner requested information on the car's history from the Swedish "statsarkiv," revealing it was first registered to a gentleman from Visby, Gotland, in 1959. Between 1960 and 1962, it had three owners from the Stockholm area, then moved to Halmstad with eight owners until 1968, when it dropped out of the Swedish register. The current owner found the car locked in a garage approximately 12 years ago and spent at least 8 years renovating it from the bottom up. Mechanical parts were sourced through the Simca club and suppliers in France, but the bodywork and panels had to be handcrafted, hence the lengthy renovation. Everything on the car was reviewed, repaired, or renovated, with the final touch being the replacement of the convertible roof a few years ago. The car was re-registered in 2020, is inspection exempt forever, and has been lightly driven during summer months since the renovation.

In October 1957, two new sports models appeared: the Océane, a two-door convertible, and the Plein Ciel, a hardtop coupe version. Both had bodywork by Facel. Many of these cars were exported to the United States. Assembled by Facel Metallon, the complicated assembly process made these cars more than twice as expensive as their sedan counterparts, which shared the same chassis and engine, contributing to their rarity today.

Fakten zum Modell

The Simca Aronde Océane, produced by the French automobile brand Simca between 1956 and 1963, was a stylish and popular two-door convertible. Designed to compete with other convertibles of the time like the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and the Triumph TR3, the Océane was based on the Simca Aronde. It featured an aerodynamic design with rounded lines and a soft convertible top, allowing for an enjoyable open-air driving experience. The car boasted stylish details such as a chrome grille and side trim.

Under the hood, the Simca Aronde Océane housed a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine producing 42 hp, capable of reaching a top speed of around 120 km/h. The interior was designed with comfort and style in mind, featuring high-quality materials and a timeless look.

Today, the Simca Aronde Océane is a beloved classic car known for its unique French styling and elegance. With only 1,200 examples produced, it has become a rare and sought-after addition to any classic car collection.
