Beschreibung
Started by Norwegian Tron Bach, who moved to Sweden in 2011, the museum was a testament to his passion for Saab. After a busy life as a hotel owner, Tron relocated to a small farm in Gullsjö, Vännäs. There, he found a worn and dented Saab 92 behind the barn, which sparked the idea of starting a Saab museum to honor the Swedish cultural heritage of Saab—a car admired worldwide. Over the years, the museum has welcomed over 1000 visitors to this small northern town.
Now, feeling that it is time to retire, Tron has decided to close the museum on a high note. The museum will close around the time of the auction's conclusion, and until then, a visit is highly recommended. For more information, visit Saab Memorial Hall.
Note: Several cars in this auction are still inside the museum and require one of the walls to be dismantled for removal. This will be done when the museum closes, allowing buyers to collect their vehicles.
About the car:
Calling the New Generation 900 cooler than the Original Generation is almost blasphemous in the Saab community. Such a statement would cause older Saab enthusiasts at meets to become uneasy. Forget all the talk about the 900 NG essentially being an Opel Vectra. This used to be a sensitive topic in Saab circles, but the youth couldn't care less. They appreciate Saabs for their cool factor, affordability, and comfort—all of which apply to the 900 NG. So, if you're young in age, at heart, or both, this is the car for you.
This cabriolet was purchased by the owner of Saab Memorial Hall in 2015. After enjoying the car for a few summers, it became part of the museum's exhibits in 2018. The car was imported to Sweden in 2007 and has had 7 owners. The odometer reads just under 250,000 kilometers. The car comes with an instruction manual, previous inspection reports, a spare wheel, and a wheel wrench.

Zustand technisch
The engine is a 2.0-liter inline-four with an indicated output of 130hp. It has a five-speed manual transmission with front-wheel drive. The engine starts nicely and runs well. It was only test-driven a short distance during the photoshoot. The convertible top operates smoothly when opening and closing. There is surface rust on the brake discs. The car needs a service, an inspection, and a check-up at the vehicle testing station. The last inspection was in 2018. It also needs a new starter battery.
-
Zustand Interieur
The car has a nice, well-fitted, high-quality seat cover installed. We checked the driver's seat backrest under the cover and found that the leather is worn (see picture). The rest of the leather upholstery has not been checked. The interior needs a thorough cleaning.
-
Zustand Exterieur
The paint is in average condition for its age and mileage, with some blemishes. The front bumper has been touched up. There are scratches on the front and rear bumpers as well as the right door. Minor paint chips and stone chips are present (see pictures). A new soft top was installed in 2009, and it is in good condition. The car has 17-inch aluminum wheels.
